300? sleep first and then start thinking again in your own thread!

I dunno, how much does half a Seta frame weigh? Cut straight down the middle of course...

currently have to stop this project as a new one is probably coming.
(therewith i'm selling my 871g ffwd f5r front wheel: http://www.lfgss.com/thread91604.html)

couldn't resist to buy a full carbon fork (ritchey carbon pro) as the price was so tempting. pro expander is also on the way. then the project should be finished as i won't change the wheels (i know they are heavy).
-
• #132
shimano pro expander incl. top cap (28,4g) for the full carbon fork arrived today, fork should be here in a few days
-
• #133
more scale stuff. sram tt900 brake lever.

Considered Tune GumGum and Fibrelyte top cap?
I couldn't use that combination as the ID of my steerer is too small, I used the Extralite Ultrastar and Fibrelyte top cap:

What fork you are using?
-
• #136
currently a cheap no-name carbon/alu fork, yesterday i received the ritchey pro carbon fork (full carbon, not the newest model, but only 70euros). will weigh and change it within the next few days
-
• #137
changed the fork today (old: 400g / new: 357g) and made a picture with all the changed parts.
Current weight: 6.57kg
Mavic Ellipse front wheel with inflated tire: 1194.4g
FFWD F5R front wheel with inflated tire and Tune quick release: 871.1gTotal weight would then be 6.25kg

Are you interested about selling that old fork?
If you are, hit me with PM and some infos about it. Steerer lenght, rake and price. Thanks, and sorry for OT.When you gona get some lighter wheels?
I'm currently making these:
Mack lf superlight 32 for rear and 28 in front.
DT revos and Alpha 340 rims.
Shuld be about: 734 rear and 644 front. -
• #144
i'll be on my annual leave for the next 3 weeks, so you have to wait a bit.
steerer length is 24,3cm and the rake looks like 43 (i don't really know as i get the fork for free).i don't really know if i'll change the wheels, but if so then probably in the winther months as i have new project for the next months. as I'm quite heavy (93kg) i have to choose more holes and stronger rims and i'm not willing to build a new wheelset with only saving a few grams.
-
• #145
If you want to save some more grams, you could change the chainring. One of these: http://singlespeedshop.com/start.htm?d_39154_c_Specialites_T_A__Competition_Track_Kettenblatt___144mm.htm in 49t weighs in at ~70g compared to ~120g for the stock 48t chainring, so that's an easy and fairly cheap 50g saved. Not sure how lightweight the TA chainring actually is, there might even be lighter ones.
-
• #146
have you seen that the ta is silver? also i won't change anything on the drivetrain. this project is finished for now.
-
• #147
Yes, I realise it's silver, however it was just an example as I that's the one I had actually weighed. I figure there are black options out there if you wanted them, the point was mostly that the stock chainring seems to be pretty heavy :)

• #148
think about it Eingang, there is a good 100-200g to loose there
with rings/cogs only, not to mention 3/32..... -
• #149
i said it too often: i defo won't change the drive train! but thanks for the advice.
