Just got a call from relative of J0nathan, apparently on the way to meet me from Stoke Newington he had a crash with a car involved and flew over the bars.
Don't know too many details, he was taken by an ambulance - his relative was quite calm though and apparently no major injuries were had.A bit distressed as shouldn't he come to meet me this might have not happened, but hope all is well.
Get well soon J0nathan.

HTFU. Sorry to hear of J0nathan's spill.
Where there's blame there's a claim so he should probably sue your ass off for enticing him into dangerous London traffic in the first place ;)

Wiped out by a van yesterday, drivers fault as he was in a filter lane and the filter green arrow wasn't on when he pulled out. Legs buggered, can't bend it and I have mild whiplash accompanied by plenty of grazes/cuts and bruises. Bike is likely to be a write off, police and ambulance were called. Anyone recommend a solicitor?

Ouch. Sounds awful - certainly not a minor incident :(
I'm sure someone with experience will recommend a solicitor soon, but in the meantime it might be worth looking at the service supplied for the CTC.

As ever, there's the what to do in case of an accident thread. It has pretty much everything

Thanks 1000AA :-)
All is well here, just a very sore shoulder and some bent handlebars (that I didn't really like anyway :-) oh, and bashed in helmet. Thanks god I always wear one.
The incident involved a driver turning right across me coming from the oppsite direction. They weren't stopping so I did and went flying over the bars.

Me. Probably by an uninsured driver.
Broken ribs and deep cut to the chin. He drove off before the Old Bill arrived so they are after him and it's all on helmet cam.

Sucks. Hope they get their comeuppance.
Does this mean you're off the bike for a bit then?

Thanks to all above. The video is funny as fuck!
The bit when the person involved and his 'brother' where told it was all on camera is a giggle! However, it's now evidence, so it'll have to wait.
Out of interest, has anyone had involvemnt in 'Lee's Bike Claims'? An old friend works for them and has said she'll be happy to take the case.

The annoying thing is that I was going to call out a taxi driver for penis parking.
So getting fucked up AND having a Taxi wanker is worth what in LFGSS Top Trumps?
-
• #422
Not without a white van involved. Sorry.
Heal up Mr. Swold. Good luck.

Well, it turns out that he was insured after all. I've just had a phone call from his insurers saying he's accepted responsibility.
Win!

Even stranger I've just found out that he probably works in the Peri-peri chicken take away just 5 minutes from where I live!
May sound daft but there are actually a fair number of decent no-win no-fee solicitors about. They take the details of your case, consider them (don't bullshit) then make a judgement on the probability of you winning. If they feel the chance is high that you will win, they can basically take an insurance policy out, which will pay out to cover their costs in the unlikely event that you lose.
In the event you win, you get the full proceeds of anything you're awarded or any settlement, plus the defendant pays their costs.
If you have genuinely been fucked over, you can't lose. These things can take a few years though.
