• How is the hip Jimbilly? Did it heal properly and everything? Any movement limitation?

  • Hope your ok Nick-Nack and you JoepowerhouseSmith.

Thanks everyone, I managed to ride to work this morning. Took me a while to leave the house as I started to panic when I realised I was actually going to ride my bike, never had anything like it but managed the ride without anything going wrong. Now looking forward to riding home.

pffff, mine was nothing.... you guys are Awesome !

(i too am looking forward to the ride home.....via dog wrestling park)

  • Great news Jim

  • How is the hip Jimbilly? Did it heal properly and everything? Any movement limitation?

The doctor told me that he could hardly see where the fracture had been and he was very impressed with how well it had healed. As for movement its fine, i just don't have any power in it.

Nick-Nack, if you see that dog again, get off and smack it with your bike and if the owner complains smack them as well. People who can't control their animals need to keep them on a lead and learn how to control them.

  • glad you're back on your bike jimbo xx

  • As for movement its fine, i just don't have any power in it.

    Back to normal then.

  • welcome back JimBilly x

  • Good news Jim! Enjoy being back on the bike.

  • If anyone saw me get hit by a silver Mercedes last night around 18:40 on New Cross Road at the intersection of Watson's Street in New Cross/Deptford please let me know. I think I (and bike) are fine but the cyclist who stopped and said he would be a witness then left. I have driver contact details etc. but thought I would put this out there in case anyone was around.

  • anyone know what happened outside the evans on clapham high street this morning? ambulances in attendance and fair amount of police so were being diverted round the back roads to go around it.

  • looks like it was a car crash with fatalities :(

  • It looked like a fender bender when I rode past - apologies to anyone concerned if it was more serious, but the cars didn't look badly smashed up.

  • twitter hyperbole perhaps then.

  • Rear ended today.

Canonbury Road/Essex Road Junction. Waiting at lights, primary position and bump. It was the southbound left lane I had two cars in front of me so chose to be part of the traffic rather than filter up to the front.

Low speed impact and I went down like a premiership footballer. Bike is fine, I have some bruising on the shoulder.

Guy admitted to not seeing me as he was adjusting his stereo at the time and is to be charged with careless driving (PCSOs were on the spot so called out the police to charge him). Witness statement done, ambulance checked me out and said I have high blood pressure (no shit Sherlock, I've just been rear ended).

In two minds about the guy being charged. He was genuinely apologetic and concerned about me but any faster and it could have been a lot worse. So despite what has happened I think he is now going to be a far safer driver.

  • Sorry to hear about your bruised shoulder, and I hope it heals soon. The combination of circumstances is such that the driver will learn his lesson, and the readiness of the on-hand PCSOs to act should help set a good precedent. For that reason I urge you to post this report far and wide.

  • heal up quick x

  • Bad luck. GWS.

  • he shouldnt have had to become a better driver as a result of decking you Rameye.
    stay strong

  • Thought I drop this in here to tap into our collective wisdom. Kat has been taken out by an oncoming, turning car two days ago and she broke her ankle in a front right type collision. Had surgery and is about to be released. Strong girl she is, she'll kick ass soon enough BUT bike is smashed, 3 months off work, driver uninsured.

We figure, that's gonna go to court to get an order for payments etc.
Can someone advise some more resources to get this procedure started right and swiftly?

Some advice in the accident sticky and more research will be done this weekend.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Wow, this is some good news. Thanks dammit! This should get it started.
She said something about passing by coppers got involved, that's how she learned the insurance status of the driver.

Will hand the link over to her. Strategy meeting tonight when she comes home from hospital.

  • Get a solicitor involved.

If you are short of cash I'll help with that if needs be.

  • Christ, a lot of uninsured drivers these days.

    Hope she heals up soon.

  • Recession. It's as bad as it used to be some 10 years ago, before the MID database and such. Some young people get car and the "insurance will be sorted". This is what I've heard from a couple of young'uns. Fake details as well. Despicable.
