I fell hard yesterday when my Campag Record Pista driveside crank snapped as I pulled away from a junction.
Luckily nothing broken on me. Just brusied elbow and ego. Mashed up rear mudguard too.
Is it worth going back to Campagnolo?? I have heard of other similar cranks snapping before.

This isnt the first time that has happened with the older campag cranks. Which generation are yours?
I think the problem lies with the way the logo is engraved into the crank arms. Its quite well documented if you do a bit of googling.

They are pretty recent. Probs 5 years old...

Where did it snap? If they are bastards about it they could blame improper installation.

Midway down the crank. Will post pic tonight.

Bad luck, Joe. Glad you're not badly hurt.
I'm afraid it is all too common for that to happen.

• #358
yeah, sad thing is if it happens to a kid and someone does tell the police, you know what could happen.....
Owner's fault.
Hopefully he will keep it on a lead from now on and get some dog training classes !But if they put the owner down there would be no one to care for the dog.
Parks are best avoided.

I've cracked a crank before but I put that down to obese trackstanding.

Trackstanding is so fucking lame.

Trackstanding is so fucking lame.

Trackstanding is so fucking lame.
yeah, i agree, trackstanders >>>>

It's not even been useful on the track for years. Learning to clip in quickly is much more useful.

Clipping in is underrated in this day and age.

So is bashing the skull of an attacking dog in with a brick.
I wonder if Tesco would use dog meat in their burgers?

Hope your ok Nick-Nack and you JoepowerhouseSmith.
Thanks everyone, I managed to ride to work this morning. Took me a while to leave the house as I started to panic when I realised I was actually going to ride my bike, never had anything like it but managed the ride without anything going wrong. Now looking forward to riding home.

Don't be a dick Ed.
Great to have you back on two wheels Jim.
-
• #373
Driver admitted liability, new Rapha jacket and brake levers to be paid by her insurance so pretty much by the book.
Will see you in the weekend Jim.

Great to have you back on two wheels Jim.
Cheers you massive cunt xx.
Good news Ed, do you know if she will get a ban or fine?
-
• #375
No idea, doubt she'd get a ban, but I'll try and encourage an advanced driving course instead of a fine/ban, despite driving without due care and attention, she was decent and realised the fault (her insurance company called up before I even get the chance to get the bike checked).
