Durable hard shell boxIs that range too big? Should it only be 3-5Nm? This doesnt mention if its 1/4" or 3/8" like Norbar range, which is the one that would be normally used?
It doesnt look certified but it isnt cheap. I hope thats ok.

The range is fine, you'll probably only use settings between 4Nm and 12Nm, the important thing is that when you set it to 4Nm the true output is somewhere near that, but it doesn't need to be within single digit percentages.

well I'm using it as my brake....
You mean you have lengths of roller chain and pulleys instead of either Bowden cable, rods and bell cranks, or hydraulic hoses taking the drive from your brake levers to your brake calipers? Sounds interesting, any pics?

I did consider the dolan but dont like
a. The shape (that bulge in the bottom tube is just ugly)
b. The finish (i get goosebumps whenever i touch that matt powdercoat)
c. The weight (its over 200g heavier than TBC's frame) -

Does anybody have expeerience with their (http://www.triplebuttedcycling.co.uk) frames though? The only reviews i could find were the ebay comments (which were all positive)...

Reread ze post ( i was asking about TBC's frames) i am fully aware of Dolan's reputation, i only found this frame after seeriously considering a Pre Cursa but being rather dissalusioned when my LBS called me down to see one they were building for another customer.
Also forgot to mention the Logos on the Pre cursa are pretty horrible and i did read a couple fo disturbing reports about the frames cracking near the BB housing...

They pushed out quite a lots of frames per years, I've heard similar story but not enough to put me off getting one.

You're right, if i'd heard a couple of reports of a frame cracking i'd much rather go for the unbranded £140 frame from the company with no backing/reputation over the £200 award-winning frameset from the company with excellent backing/reputation/sales/etc

Ugh, reading comp is not a prized skill here i see... My main reasons (as previously stated) for not wanting the Cursa were that i found it ugly and it is substantialy heavier. This thread was about building a "Light bike" no? How can you reccomend a 1800g+ frame in this thread? I dont doubt the quality of the Dolans (again see my previous post) my end game is to acquire a seta frameset... It appears i have upset the fanbois though so chances of getting an objective answer to my question seem to be rapidly dimishing :/

No, I havn't thought of reading as a 'prized skill' since I was about 4
What i'm trying to say is, by the time you've bought a carbon fork and seatpost and fitted headset etc, you'll have probably spent over £200 anyway, and you'll be left with a frameset with little re-sale value and mediocre ride, which will probably weigh a lot more than advertised, and with no geometry information.
Edit: This thread is about building a light bike, which is why the OP is going for a Seta. We were recommending the Pre-cursa to you, although if the end goal was to get the Seta aswell, why not just save up for a bit longer, and avoid the hassle/expense of re-selling a frameset?

Chances of getting an objective answer were zero to start with, because you're asking about a product from a company with no reputation that nobody here has bought.
What makes you think a generic Chinese aluminium frame is really going to be 200g lighter than the market leader? And if you fear cracking Dolans, why do you think using even less metal will improve matters?
For the price of that no-brand frame and a fork of the same quality as Dolan throws in, you could get the Dolan powder coated in a finish more to your taste

Review says it has calibration certificate, so that should keep the nerds quiet. In practice, I doubt that accurate calibration is that big a deal - no manufacturer in their right mind would ship components which didn't work just fine at specified torque + 25%. Bolt tension is what breaks stuff, and the torque/tension curve moves more than that depending on lubrication conditions anyway.
If the spec says 4Nm, the importance of a torque wrench of any kind is to get it somewhere between 3Nm and 5Nm, and not the 2-10Nm you'd use if you just tried to guess it by feel.
