  • that's the Digger method.

  • Notice that mine goes all shit and wrinkly where it finishes

  • I see that.

  • the wiggle link for the DPS tape for later use

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lizard-skins-dsp-race-bar-tape/

  • Nice tape to use.
The finishing tape is bloody sticky, and actually works. First time I've actually used finishing tape. I usually automatically disgard the crap with the box.

  • I'd just be a bit worried about scoring the bars if I cut down through the tape without anything underneath

  • that can happen, you just have to be careful.

  • Meh. Mine are scored. Adds to the vertical compliance.

  • So your advice is to carefully score your carbon handlebars to tune the flex?

  • I use a dab of uhu one the end of the tape (applied with a toothpick) after cutting it.

No plastic tape and no seam.

that can happen, you just have to be careful.

When I did that to my risers (albeit not carbon), I pressed down with a sharp knife and slowly rolled it round the bars, as opposed to the traditional "sawing" motion...

worked well, not even a scratch...

  • A single wrap of slightly stretched self-amalgamating tape here overlapping on the underside to make the joint .. thought about heat shrink too but never used it.

S'not deep. I'm not bothered. Resale is fecked though.

If you dont mind a little lump. You can wrapin the opposite direction. Start under the centre of the bar, wrap a single turn further towards the centre. Then turn back and wrap all the way to the bar-ends. Trapping the starting end in the process. I do it all the time. Partly cuz I'm lazy. Not on the flash roadie though.

  • it had superlight in the name.

They lied. Deda Traforato is lighter, and it's made of drillium, the weight weenie's favourite material.

    self-amalgamating tape

  • which parts are still missing now?

  • I bought some self-amalgamating tape the other day just to see what Tester was on about. Strange stuff, stretches a shit load too.

  • Found some levers lighter than the SRAM 900s, the KCNC ones:-)

I'll believe it when I see them on some scales.

one sram tt900 lever weighs 49.8g

Got a feeling the KCNC levers will come in close to that weight ..

    So here is the proof:

    That means ONE is

    Drum roll please

  • And theyre not so bad looking either.

  • Doesn't know much about what makes a good TT brake lever but they look very nice to me .. and a great weight too :)

  • Nah,

I want to ride to Bournemouth.

I hear you went surfing instead?

  • No. He wants to go and see where people go to die in this country.

  • I hear you went surfing instead?

    Bastard...

  • This is for you, Ian

  • hahahaha
