  • CB why don't you buy Eingang's front wheel? tub, but should be OK on the front...

  • i might even steal it from you Tom ;-)

  • Got a feeling the KCNC levers will come in close to that weight ..

  • Nice Dutch bike, has 6pt been playing again?

  • Yup!

    He wanted antiporn.

  • That's fucking awesome, build it like that. With a basket on the front.

  • you're missing about 50mm of spacers....

  • Needs rear MTB guard.

  • That's fucking awesome, build it like that. With a basket on the front.

needs to be a light basket though
do they do carbon fibre ones yet ?

  • Thats hawt should deffo build it like that!

  • Seatpost clamp arrived last night. Cheers Oswald!

So has the light weight bar tape.

And i think my levers are sitting in the depot waiting to be picked up.

  • Just build it up and ride to Brighton tomorrow with us!

  • Nah,

I want to ride to Bournemouth.

  • Ride to Bournemouth!

  • Which tape did you go for? The lightest and most comfortable stuff I found was the Deda 'Nastro Per Manubrio' stuff which once taped weighed in at about 33g.

  • SRAM Superlight Bartape. I only picked it cause it had superlight in the name.

  • But i cant find the weight online anywhere.

    So cant compare :-(

  • Lizard Skins DSP 1.8.

50g uncut and with end plugs. Sticky as anything, whatever the weather. Love it.

  • I got the 2.5mm stuff the other day, it's noticably more chunky but still feels nice to hold.

I think it makes the tops of Ergonova bars a bit borderline though- almost too large.

In related news- how do I finish bar tape without it looking like a drunk suffering from severe head trauma has tried to steal my handlebars?

  • I bought the lizzard skins for my roadbike. Funnily though, the old tape started moving. But i think that was because i used electrical tape all over the bars making them almost non stick. I wont be doing that again

  • It says on the LizardSkins packaging not to stretch it when you wrap your bars with it. Ignore this.

(All the bars I've wrapped with it have needed re-wrapping, the ones Jim did for me have been perfect. Operator error.)

  • Especially with carbon bars it's useful to degrease them before taping- baby wipes do a good job.

I'm going to get someone else to refinish mine- happy with everything bar the last inch.

wrap all the way to the middle of the bars, making note where you want to stop. Then wrap some electrical tape around where you want the tape to end. Then use a knife and go around the inside edge of the electrical tape, leaving a nice sharp finish with no overlap from the electrical tape.

  • Is that how the LMNH mech does it? (Steve maybe?)

He did my cross bike and it's perfect.
