I don't need one any more, unless I decide to get one for the Vig.

  • Technically, this:

    1. tester 46/2/1/black
    2. noiser 46/2/1/black

because I sold my personal 46mm one to upsidedown as his need was more urgent than mine.

  • Yeah thanks for that. I was wondering, would you want it back so I can get one with a bigger lip?

  • I'll swap it if you want a deeper one, put your requirements on the list.

  • Cheers, I'll have a look at the measurements.

  • Any idea what size I'd need for a Planet X Stealth frame?

  • Right, assuming I get some measurements for my Canyon, I have a few questions - as its 1 1/4" steerer, do you know of a source for the micro-spacers in that dimension?
And would I need a special expander bung to go to the wider diameter of the fork?

Probably the same as upsidedown's PX track frame, but there's no substitute for measurement as compression ring heights vary.

You'll need a bigger bore cover for 1.25", I'm not even sure that I have material big enough but I can check; head tube is likely to be >50mm, based on typical 1.125" practice.

You shouldn't need any shims if you take proper measurements and order the right size, unless you have a very low compression ring. As 1.25" is uncommon, the usual suggestion of checking your/your LBS' parts bin probably doesn't apply. I could get shims made, but they would be prohibitively expensive; the ones I had made to go under sprockets were £40 for 10, but it's unlikely that I could get just one or two made for any less as the set up is 90% of the cost, once you've spent half an hour doing the first one of anything, it only adds a few minutes to do each extra one in the same session.

The expander or whatever else you use as the nut in your headset adjuster is obviously different for a fat fork, but that doesn't have any bearing on the headset cover.

  • I have some 54mm bar, so I could go up to that size for people with freakishly fat head tubes. I think 1.25" steerer uses an integrated bearing of 47mm OD, so the head tube could be anything from about 50mm for steel up to 55mm for burly aluminium tubes.

  • I need to find my verniers (unless anyone else with a FM066sl is getting one and has measurements), but i want one:

  • Reckon I'm gonna need a 46/3/1/black, should I put it on the list under my own name or just change your one tstr?

  • Change line 1. I'm going to make spares in 2mm depths anyway.

  • When are these likely to be made? Couldn't get hold of calipers this week as work got in the way :/
Or rather when do you need the numbers by?

  • I'm thinking mid-Feb cut off for dimensions and payments

  • Assuming this is the measurement you want for depth?
(impossible to take it with the assembly on and under compression, but as its > 2 mm anyway, I'm guessing its not so important to be perfect as I'll need spacers anyway)

    Head tube diameter is 49mm

I assume you mean <2mm? Have you managed to find any 1.25" shims?

  • / < whatevs !

(yeah, ooops. Glad it was obvious anyway).

No not looked for any shims yet but I'm sure I can find something?
