  • Cheers tester, bit of an annoyance, I'll wait till I get the frame then get measuring

  • Spares Available:
    46/2 - 1
    45/2 - 1 + 2 old style

For other sizes, start a new list, needs 20 orders to break even

  • Slam received, many thanks _tester.

  • ^ ditto. Found mine in the pile of mail in my office this morning. Cheers.

  • Any idea what size you would need for a cervelo s2?

  • Probably 45/2, I've got that on my T3 and a happy customer with the same size on a P2C

  • I'll take one of those then. Didn't even need the one for my BMC in the end! Damn.

    Will send monies later

  • I've got a cane creek is-8i headset on my Omnium. Do you have any covers left that will fit?

  • I have 45mm and 46mm covers left. The right size depends on how thick the head tube wall is. I think the IS8 is Campag size (41.8mm bearings), so 46 might work, but I'm using a 47 on my 464 which only has 41mm bearings so there's really no way to guess, you have to measure your head tube overall diameter to get the aesthetic fit right, although functionally even the 45 will overlap the inner bore of the head tube and act as a dust cover.

  • Do you still have any of these left, I would like one for my 7vrn, It has a pretty big headtube so a bigger size is probably better.

  • I'd love one of these but have absolutely no idea what measurements my pista concept would be...

  • If you still have the 46/2 can I take it and get it posted with my stem cap?

  • Yes and yes

  • I need one for my condor but not sure how to figure out what size I'd need?

  • Tom. Remove fork and measure outside to outside diameter of the top of your head tube or current headset cover.

  • Simple as that Rob? Sounds too easy....

  • Well, if you want a precise fit you also need to measure your depth from the top of the compression ring to the top of the head tube. 2mm works for most people and is the minimum in this design, a few people have had deeper ones to fit headsets with particularly proud compression rings.

  • Any left? I'd really like another for a new bike I've been building. The previous 2 were fab !

  • Only 1 left, 45mm old 'angular' design

  • I think that was an older version if you read back through the thread. I like mine.

  • This just looks bad.

That's why I do custom sizing.

  • Condor have informed me that the headset specs are:

    1" 1/8 41.8 x 45º

Is this enough to go on?

  • I'm planning to make more of these in February, I'll make 2mm deep ones in common diameters (45/46/47/48) plus any special sizes ordered and paid for before manufacturing starts. To determine which size you need, refer to the instructions and diagram below.

Measure the head tube diameter at the top. Measure the depth - to do this, assemble the headset and stem and adjust the preload, then, without lifting the front wheel off the ground (which will tend to move the steerer and thereby mess up the precise position of the compression ring) measure the depth from the top of the compression ring ③ to the top of the head tube. From this dimension, subtract 0.3mm, which is the recommended clearance, to get the required internal depth of your bearing cover. If your result is less than 2mm, you'll want a 2mm deep cover and one or more 0.2mm shims on top of the compression ring. These shims can be found in most people's parts bin, if there aren't any in yours ask your LBS or friends.
