The bell part was something I picked up out of the scrap metal bin at my old work. Think it was meant to be an accumulator of some kind. Did a bit of turning on it at my new work to make it useable, nicked some parts from a shitty cheap standard bicycle bell and a bit of Meccano and bosh. Fancy new bell.

Stainless steel bottle and rack. No more sweaty back.
Lights also fitted.
Thinking about mud guards.

What about those ones that look like a newer version of the salmon profils. Sure someone had a pair they picked up at condor.... Curanas?

I know. I'd rather not but then again I'd like to ride this bike and not let a bit of rain prevent me from doing so.
They must look good though.

Wooden ones.......
Do it!
Match the tape/saddle combo?
Do it!

Avoid these 'guards, they only have one horizontal support for the rear and this coupled with a plastic brake bridge mount means they have a tendency to move up and down on bumps creating and loud slapping noise as the metal hits the rear tyre. They can also bend easily as they are thin aluminum and it is nigh on impossible to get them back into shape once they are bent. (Speaking from experience having owned a set for 2 years) would not buy again, chromoplastics are your best bet although aesthetically 'challenged'...

Just had an idea.
What about carbon. Homemade?
I could knock up simple flat profile fender style ones relatively easily I think. Kind of thinking a flat ribbon of a few plies bent round for full length guards, could look quite nice?

Ok, well, I went ahead and made myself some carbon mudguards.
Just finished them in fact. I'm pretty happy with the result!I'll try to take some pics tomorrow, when it's light.

Got home too late, rain and darkness prevented decent outdoor photos... but here are a couple of teaser shots I just took on my phone in the kitchen.
Laminated with 8 plies of a light weight 3k plain-weave pre-preg. 35mm wide. Lay-up intended to allow the required degree of flex needed but with minimal twist. Made from a flat panel because it's the easiest - no moulds required, bit of measuring, very little machining, just a couple of old Gurney flaps cut into tabs that I bonded on, bit of trimming, bosh. The fact they're flexed flat panels also means the tension in them adds to the structure and how they fix to the bike.
I could refine them, obviously, but for a quick first attempt I'm satisfied. -

They look good, but so out of place on this build :(

Thanks for your opinion, sorry it makes you sad.
They make me happy :)

Wow, they're amazing.
If they work well and you fancy making an second set...
;)

Thanks very much.
I'll see how they go. Doubt I could make a second set, unless I had the bike to measure up against. Tailor made, you see.

Ah yes the stay length.
How did you make it?
