Latest incarnation, almost finished, just need to get the stem converter on a lathe and it'll be done. Although I now wish I had silver handlebars...

Looking good. I think you need to get rid of the silly cinelli finishing tape and use some electrical or cloth tape.
As for the bars, have you thought about stripping and polishing ?

Silver bars and Brooks leather tape and you're there...

Although the black bars look good, I agree with the brooks honey tape/silver bar combo.......then I think it will be my favourite bike on the forum. No joke.
I'm really gutted I didn't pull the trigger on this one, although I wouldn't have done it justice..... I would have just put an old campag group on it, that I have in my spares box.
Good work!

Thanks very much stedlocks.
I'm actually quite liking the cork tape though. It kind of matches the cream frame panels.

Definately.
If you'd described or shown separately those wheels, sadle and tape to me I would have thought it would be missmatched. Bu the whole thing ties very well.
A lovely bike.

Thanks.
Definitely.

I really like this build, the wheels are understated but give a nice air of performance to the bike. It's convinced me that a modern external bearing crankset can work on a steel frame! Great work!

Thank you!
Just wanted to add this gratuitous saddle shot, for no reason whatsoever... other than I like it!

I've got one of those, identical, on my hetchins.....good work!

Pretty similar- and as nice and as good value as it is- because of the starting price I'd suspect little bidding on it.

It's an overused cliche but... that frame is a work of art.
-
• #117
Oh yeah! Very similar.
I think I managed to build my entire road bike version for about £1500. Maybe even less in fact. But he's got a nice build on that and better wheels than mine so not such a bad price if it sold for the starting bid.

Stem height now how I want it and bike finished. Now I just ride it. It is awesome.

Aksiums. I think these will be the first thing needing upgrading, when the time comes.

Cockpit upgraded with a custom/home made titanium bell. I'm really happy with this. Gives a very loud and lovely tone of ping. Very pleasing.

i'd expect it to be more like TiNG!
