I was thinking p6 seatpost and F119 stem,..
Just got a call, will be here tomorrow.

The Ritchey WCS is under rated .. but I’ve used Syntace in the past and that’s really nice equipment too
Personal discrimination alert ! Don’t use Thomson on a road bike ..

Even the X2? It's a great looking thing...

http://www.ritcheylogic.com/dyn_prodfamily.php?k=397724I kinda like the idea of matching stem and bar brands. As I imagine they will combine better. That sounds like supersticial nonsence, cuz it is. But there you go.
The Easton EA90 stuff is nice too. But you get less grams for your buck with Ritchey WCS.

Thomson X2 is nicely made, look and install well. They're certainly not floppy .. reflected in the weight 110mm = 147grams .. but I really can not get excited about Thomson on a road bike .. sorry

I prefer this bar .. but each to their own shape!
-
• #58
Ritchey WCS stuff is the way to go. Thomson for hipster points only.

No you're right. I linked to the slightly longer reach one.
I swear by my EC90 SLX03 bars. The kink as the drop starts allows for a flat transition to the hoods, combined with one of the shortest lever reaches in the drops on the market. Probably not worth the dollar if you dont have stubby fingers though.

I don't like the branding of the Ritchey stuff. Purely cosmetic reasons rule it out.
-
• #62
Thomson is just re-appropriated mtb kit. Get Deda stuff or 3T
-
• #63
Yeah. I have a 3T stem making it's way to me, but the change in frame makes me think the stem may now be a little long.
And I've really taken to the Syntace stuff...
-
• #64
^^^^ agreed. In terms of shape ritchy stuff always seems to look lovely, but like the older Easton stuff the graphics let it down.
-
• #65
I don't have any experience of the Syntace stuff, though sounds/looks good for what I can gather.
However, I got these bars recently to replace some Easton EC90 Aero's, as I wasn't getting on with the flat tops and ergo bend. I can totally recommend them! There are a treat, real comfy, light, stiff and I find myself comfortably riding the drops a lot more now.I picked them up for a fair price on ebay, or a guy contacted through ebay who seemed well stocked.
Nice touch on the Frame upgrade, looks ace!!

The syntace seatpost is quickly gaining popularity.
Weenies have been loving the stems for ages.
As I said, the bars look nice. Its certainly not a bad chioce.
Flashy CNC'd mtb kit would be IMHO.

I got a pair of Ergonova Pro's on my Cross bike and really liked them- I now have the same bars on my fixie skidder, and the Ergonova Ltd's on my road bike.
I think the way to do this is to pick the bars you get on with, then get the stem and seatpost to match.
This does however mean that (if I had paid retail) my stem, seatpost and bars would have cost more than my car (for the Ltd stuff).
-
• #68
I don't own a car.
I won't be owning the Ltd stuff.I'll ride it as is for the time being and pick up the rest, as and when I come across it/can afford it. New bars are first, then post.
Then it will be cables.
Then wheels.Just got the delivery text, total christmas eve vibes.

The Ltd stuff is beautifully made, but not worth the money over the Team stuff really.

If you think of parting with either pro bars let me know :)

Officially got carbon and gearz.

more photos!

All that remains is a 3T Doric seatpost for now.

those wheels aren't black
With lightweight frame and groupset, Ritchey WCS springs to mind.
I do love the look of the syntace drops though.
The backwards sweep of the tops, and slight flare of the drops looks really nice.
