  • Wrong material also

  • I know the wheels aren't black.
And I know they're not carbon.

  • Carbon wheels are for buyers.
And pretty pointless, unless you're racing on them.

  • Fuck me.

  • Looking sweet.

You have to get 3T finishing kit now...

Doric Team, Ergonova/Sum Team.... uh oh

  • Oh and some Dura Ace C24's

  • Still got a 3T Dorico Team Carbon seapost (27.2mm) if you're interested: http://www.lfgss.com/thread83103.html

  • Is getting a 'finishing kit' such a big deal?
I know it looks good posted up here all matching, but I find myself making a compromise on one component when striving to stick with a single manufacturer. Alright I'm just jealous my stuff doesn't match.

Looking alright tenderz, +1 for black tyres.

  • Of course it's not a big deal.

    But it looks PRO.

it's the only thing I'm very slightly OCD about...

  • I have 3t bars and stem right now, so for me getting a matching seat post makes sense. I like the look of the syntace stuff, but as this was a complete build, stuff will get changed as and when.

    Black
Tyres are coming next week - if I can shift these zaffiro jobbies. I want deep carbon but am tempted by the PX tubular low profile carbon rims.

I don't need to make these decisions till next month at least!

  • Tubs - fail.

  • Took it out for a quick spin today. Feels great, although I think it will benefit dramatically from a better seatpost. I'd like to know what it weighs...

  • So this has all changed.

The arrival of thecyclescheme at work coupled with the Planet-X £1000 Sram red bike -

What bike is this? I don't see it on their website.

  • I don't have any experience of the Syntace stuff, though sounds/looks good for what I can gather.
However, I got these bars recently to replace some Easton EC90 Aero's, as I wasn't getting on with the flat tops and ergo bend. I can totally recommend them! There are a treat, real comfy, light, stiff and I find myself comfortably riding the drops a lot more now.

I picked them up for a fair price on ebay, or a guy contacted through ebay who seemed well stocked.

Nice touch on the Frame upgrade, looks ace!!

What is that rim in the background? I'm looking for something like that.

  • What bike is this? I don't see it on their website.

The had the carbon pro comp with Sram Red (not rear mech or chainset) for £999 about 6 weeks ago.
I upgraded to a red chainset for £59 and they decided I deserved a red rear mech (not sure why)

They then realised they'd over-sold the pro comp XL frame and so upgraded me to the Nanolight.

I'm on the hunt for a carbon 31.6mm post, so if anyone has something kicking about, I'd be interested to try it.

I really needed this bike for the Amsterdam 300, which comes at the end of September and for the training for the ride. Although I'm today laid up in bed with tonsillitis!

  • Blimey, that's a great deal. Nice work. Shame it's probably gone now... you've basically got a red groupset with the frame for free.

    Heal up!

  • Yeah, pretty stoked with it. Got lucky and then luckier with the Nanolight frame. I'm mainly worried about breaking stuff.

New tyres and seatpost are on the agenda currently.

  • I have all the bits for mine now. Just need to build it and need a torque wrench for that. Mine will be mostly 105 (5700) as that's all I could afford with a fsa team issue carbon crankset. Managed to get a bargainous Use Alien post (160g!) so that's the post I'm using. You should get the nanolight bars, they are what I'm using and they are lush! Will eventually post pics in CP when she is built.

  • :o that planet-x frame is lovely!

  • Updates: Fulcrum 5's rolling on conti-sports and some P-X carbon cages.

The SLR is looking worse for wear, so will either attempt to re-cover or get another one.
Next month will buy some Veloctity A23's and start building that wheelset and decide what carbon seatpost I'm gonna go for.

Having put a good 6-700 miles on it over the past couple of months, I love it.

  • Get the matching 3T Doric.

  • recovering's easy, just copy the cutting and stitching of the bit of plasti-leather you remove.

  • Get the matching 3T Doric.

Likely to happen - but I loathe buying things like that new...

it's that or get a syntace hi-flex p6 and matching syntace stem...

Conti Ultras? Whoah there... before you do anything else, buy some tyres that don't handle like utter shite.

Tyres are the best upgrade you can buy - especially worth it on such a well kitted out bike - it's ludicrous to spend all that money on contact points and gears when you are running some of the worst tyres in existence. Handle like crap, corner like crap, behave like ice skates in the wet, and rigid as fuck.
