It really wasn't that bad.
It was a lesser torture. Became a greater one when it started raining, so that we could see cooling water dropping all around us but couldn't feel the benefit.

Despite being heard to say something along the lines of "why the fuck would you do this overnight it's a stupid bloody idea and I'm never doing it again" at the beach last year, I will in fact be doing it again. I will do something to try and counteract the tiredness this year though, either an early start, sleep schedule adjustment, or modafinil.

Just have a really late night the night before. It worked well for me. If I remember rightly I stayed up till 3.30am watching chasing legends.

what is this that you speak of!?
It's a stimulant, commonly used to treat narcolepsy and occasionally ADHD. You can take it and it'll keep you awake for a while. Similar effects to Ritalin.

I might park my Cayenne on the beach so that when I arrive I can get my manservant to load the Cervelo on the back and then drive me home.
Oops, sorry, wrong thread. Thought this was TNRC.

Definitely up for this again. In fact I think it was the last forum ride I did :/
Is there likely to be a coach like last year?
Also I'm up for helping make the video L.A.U.R.A - didn't record it at all last year as was focussed on completing the thing!

Ephedrine for me

Is Andy G around here these days? I seem to remember some of his special recipe Dr Ferrari's Astana Beans being circulated at the start a few years back - I think the active ingredient in those might have been ephedrine rather than just the minty filling.

Riding it on my fixed-wheel Moulton. Need to find a 10k-ish loop from Euston to bring it up to a full-distance 200k DIY audax.
Have booked a beach hut at Southwold to have a restoritive kip in on the Sunday.

I'm planning to ride (all the way!) with the Paragonistas again this year. I promise not to put the wind up anyone by lobbing myself over the bars in the middle of Epping Forest and making a spectacle of m'self.

If my name were Xander I would happily cough up a fiver, particularly if being called Xander had the effect of magicking up a Cervelo and a Cayenne that I could sell on gumtree. Just think how many carradice saddlebags I could get with all that money!

The driver was told, nothing could be done. Apart from get off the coach.
It wasn't the end of the world.
Really? I was sitting right next to him and I don't remember anyone saying a word!

Always sounds like a good idea before-hand but when I get there it just looks a bit grey and cold. Tho watching oliver negotiating the pebble beach barefoot a couple of years back was the height of comedy.
