  • cum face?

  • Beautiful cranks, but I don't really think thats right chainring to use (aethetically speaking). You want something that melts into the spider more.

  • My thoughts too, any suggestions as too what will work?

  • Two options really:

    a TA type / dura-ace straight arm connector with thinnish ring, or;

    a solid ring/disc, or;

    bin it and put a Paul 4 aces on there..

  • could get a solid Gebhardt ring, they come in 130bcd

  • try before you buy.. ;)

    "does my ring look big in this" :O

  • I'd probably say just without the cutouts would look good:

    ... but also a solid ring may work.

    Hang on, don't you have mad chopping skills?

  • I note velo base says it needs a 114mm BB, presumably thats for double ring mode, so i'm guessing it'll be more in the 110mm range in singles

    might get this chain ring

  • If there's any uncertainty, I'd wait until you get them and measure them in the flesh.

  • Exactly what I'm going to do. I bought pedals and straps today, the purists among you will shudder to know that they're big fat plasic bmx pedals and velcro straps, hip-hop slavery is a cruel master

  • unsubscribe

  • i might put some north roads and a rack on it, then pay for the rear bridge to be raised so i can get mudguard clearance

  • I nearly got bmx pedals and velcro straps, mostly because I think they're easier (than regular clips and straps) to get in and out of while still keeping them tight and secure for skidz... and they're more comfortable... and not so hard on your shoes... I still kind of want some.

    If you have feet to match your height that must have influenced your decision?

    I apologise for being a weasel earlier, I clearly had not had my weetabix...

    Although not the bmx pedals!

  • spuds or time pedals shirley

    they are by far the most comfortable way to ride clippless, i never feel secure in cages i think its my big feet

    spuds or time pedals shirley

    I've already got a fixed bike with atac's, which isn't a lo pro, its getting drops and levers. Then i'll have a seriously bike with clipless so i can ride distance. This will be a short to medium distance hhsb that i don't have to put disco slippers on to ride, and as i have said above they the bmx pedals are the most secure option with normal shoes for me.

  • you have those chrome shoes! Go clipless.

  • you have those chrome shoes! Go clipless.

    they rip my heals to shreads as soon as i walk any distance in them. As soon as they die and I can go to a shop that stocks them, i will buy some SIDI's

  • make your own with an old pair of trainers.

  • I've got had bmx pedals and holdfasts, on my fixed beater, mainly bc I was trying to build a hipster fixeh. And I've got to say I think the setup is average.

    My foot ends up too far fwd. adjusting them is a faff and the pedals are unnecessarily big for the shoes I usually wear. That said I've converted it to SS for my girl friend to practice on, and I got to say that SS without straps bmx pedal work really well.

    All just IMO/E obv.

  • I really like my Restrap/BMX pedal setup, prefer it 100x more than double clip & strap... but still love the stiffness of my mtb shoe and Atac setup the best. I want Sidis but have to wear out my current shoes first... They seem to be holding up well... Unfortunately...

    you can always twist the front strap, that way it will come down at an angle, stopping this

  • i used my now pedalthreadless starfish with a 111mm veloce bb.. worked a treat.. they must be available in italian treat?! otherwise,i have some chorus italian thread sealed bb cups which I'ld part with.. fit centaur and chorus and probably record too..
