  • I couldnt get 42, 42.5 or 43 sidis to fit right, im a UK8

43's my heal slips, 42 weren't long enough, 42.5 gave me foot cramp

42.5 and 43 Giro's fit blissfully, (i have 43's in my MTB shoes and thicker socks, the empires are 42.5 and fit like a glove)

  • I've got 43 Sidi Ergo 3 Speedplays and they are too slim, and a touch too long. I get a bit of an ache for the first 20 minutes of a ride, and then anything over about 100km they tend to give me hotspots.

The 43 Mega Dominators are slightly too high volume for me, and I slip around a bit.

Hopefully some Giro's will sort it. Who holds a good amount of stock that I can try on?

Also I will be so glad to get rid of these white and lime liquigas shoes. They are a fucking rancid colour.

  • I tried my giro's at the bike show last year in the madison thing but I think madison stopped stocking giro and there seems to be very few places stocking them now...

might have to order form always riding and return?

  • Shimano = wide

  • sidi making wide speedplay ergos is on my genie 3 wish list too

Anything italian (fizik, sidi etc) is narrow unless mentioned

  • Wanna buy mine Amey? They're v gooood.

  • I find I have similar problem with the dominator, I compensate by having a thick insoles (which are custom as I have high arches).

    I would if they were 44 :(

You'll be fine mate, take the insoles out for even lower stack height...

    Evan's stock Giro?

  • So they do! Last time I checked they had nothing left

  • I just went to the big Evans near Gt Portland Street. Really small selection available - all Shimano, Garneau or Specialized - nothing like the range online. It looks like they are dropping lines as the Giro, Bontrager and Bont options on the web site are shrinking. Could be just the end of the 2013 year models. Not sure.

I've got hugely wide feet am looking to replace my dying Sidis 47 megas with something else. I ordered some wide fit Lakes and will report back once they rock up.

  • They don't display them at Evans because they make more money with the other.

It's always been like that for years.

  • Any shops in London likely to have Giro in stock? I'd quite like to try some Empires.

  • I want to try on some Giro Privateers to see whether I need the HV version, and can't find a single shop in NY that actually stocks them (I've called almost all of them).

  • Dry - I think Cycle Surgery may carry them. Call ahead though, most shops carry very little stock.

  • Cheers, I'll give them a call.

  • Not sure if that was resolved dry, but kinoko stock empires.

I got some privateers today from condor. For 100 quid they are great value. Comfy, stiffer than my Sidi Dominators, a better fit, more supportive and more durable looking (from first impressions anyway) really happy with them so far.

  • Cheers JB, yep, got some in kinoko today.

  • What are they like?

  • I'll find out tomorrow for sure I guess. They seem a lot more comfortable/better fit than my fiziks though and I really like the lace up. They come with a couple of insoles aswell so can do a bit of fine tuning too.

  • D.I.Y

    to the day I D.I.E.

  • Gunna sell all my shoes and go full Giro.

Sidi Speedplay Specific Ergo III Liquigas Special Editions in 43 - good condition, and I'll throw in the wear plates but not the cleats.

Sidi Dominator 5 Mega 43 - impossible to brake and thus in good condition. Will throw in ATAC cleats and spare buckle.
Chrome Truk Pro 9 - Worn maybe 3 times, still got the box - too slim for me. Will throw in ATAC cleats

Get at yr boy if you're interested.

  • Does anybody know where I can get hold of a pair of bont commuter ones in the UK?

  • I just bought some Bont Riots from Merlin Cycles website. Normally a 44 but had to send them back for a 44.5. I sent them back on a Saturday and fair lpay to Merlin - by Tuesday I had a new pair o shoes in the right size. Give the rep in the online retailers thread.

Light as anything and seem stiff too - not ridden any where on them yet but initial impressions are positive
