  • Did I just see the forum's very own "TNRC" written on the road?

    that would be so cool...

    5. rhowe (riding out from Soho & back to Enfield with the world's creakiest BB)
    6. KT Bee (poss riding out - will decide nearer the time)
    7. Joel (I'll probably ride back from the point of the ride nearest the A104...)
    8. wools

      12.
  • I'd like to jump on board for this, will confirm soon

  • Weather looks like we could be lucky. I've had enough of this cancelling for the wet stuff though. Ride on!

  • Boo!

  • oi Boo!

    DESCENT not DECENT

But nice work on the tnrc graff'!

  • I wasn't suggesting cancelling, just a warning to prep for the wet, given the medium-range forecast. As it is, yep it looks dry and we might even see some breaks in the cloud.

  • The route could be a prob if the towpath/offroad bits haven't dried out. We've got the E4 up our sleeves tho so there will be a ride tomorrow whatever the weather.

  • we might even see some breaks in the cloud.

at which point I'll send you up the break while the rest of us drag the peloton up at the 2k mark. We need to deliver Des to 400m at 70kph for the win.

    Full lead out train.

  • Gutted to miss the Lea ride, have not done this one. The missus is out tomoz, so no can go.

Awesome work on the TNRC road graff.

  • at which point I'll send you up the break

    Talk about misplaced confidence!

  • I'm going to ride out, I didn' recall how close Chingford is to my house...

I'll swing home after work and leave Hackney wick about 6:50 ish... Lea Bridge Road/ Chatsworth for 7pm if anyone else riding out is going from that way?

  • Sounds good. Might be 7.15 pm.

  • Anyone got a spare ight for Zander to use? He's got a houseguest who is up for a pootle but needs some lumens! I'll guarantee the parts and will be in the Goswell Road area so pick up at LMNH or nearby. Happy to ride to pickup though.

  • Des has a spare Fenix. I bring batteries.

  • Don't trust the fenix anymore - but I've got a spare exposure light, will bring it along Zanda/Ben.
Reckon we'll only need the first train, so if you are riding out aim for 7:45.

Looking forward to this as it's the one route II haven't done. Weather looks like it will clear up for tonight so... anyone who know's the route or trusts their garmin and is happy to lead (and I guess make a call on this or E4 if the going looks too messy)? Doesn't have to be a perfect trace of the original route - just enough to get around.

  • Is the route ok after the recent rain?

  • Is the route ok after the recent rain?

I\ll be powering through regardless. Looks like it's set to clear up this evening any who.

cool have text Zander to let him know

I've upgraded to an 800 now so have speedy-quick route finding etc.

  • Sounds good - garmin on point then. We can always slow the pace or divert if it gets messy. I'll bring the extra light and fully charged batteries.

It's not water coming from the sky that is the concern, it's the water/mud on the off road sections. Quite a bit of rain fell on Sunday and quite a bit more last night.

  • Not riden this before so no idea how muddy the off road bits could get - shall we make a final call at Chingford and revert to E4 if anyone localish thinks it will be too messy... Ludwig? Presumably those garmined up can switch routes.

  • I've done a quick decision tree to prevent procrastination about the route:

    Is it dry?
Yes - ride the off road route
No - still ride the off road route

If we implement the above, we should be fine.
