maybe more Tum's size & will need a bit of work...: http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/gt-outpost-trail-bike/94530642
not looked on gumtree in years...
I thought Tum has that revolution SS with horizontal dropouts? If so then all he really needs is a smaller front ring to drop the gearing.

Let see if it can works. If anyone is free and want to come to see it is welcome! Also thinking in the Chester one... I asked him to send me more photos to ensure more if it can be fine or not before going there. I haven't got a response yet.

it's not that much worse than mine or Emyrs.
I wouldn't say that my bike is representative of what most people would choose for a polo-specific bike, although Mirek's is also a jump bike... I think mine's the only polo bike round here with a 12cm stem.

For 15£ more and the train ticket to Chester (around 10£) can be better the jump bike I think. Do you agree?
-

Saw that GT and wondered what options there are for SS conversion - can someone direct me to the relevant sources of wisdom?

Over there >>>

GT probably has vertical dropouts so you're looking at a chain tensioner and then a bunch of spacers and rear cog of desired size on the back.
-
• #436
jump bikes already SS and more modern are obvs superior to old quill stemed, geared GT and the like.
-
• #437
Cons of chain tensioner? Surely it'll come off as much as Drew's?

which jump bike?
you will have to make sure it has a long seatpost -
• #439
The chester one would be the best one, already singlespeed and has rigid forks.
-
• #440
I've lost track - has anyone already said they're going for the jump in Chester???

No photo but there's an orange p7 on there, that'll be well good for polo, if it's 2000 or later it'll have swopout dropouts so no need for a tensioner.

CAN SOMEONE LEND ME £200 QUID?!!!!!!!
I take it the 'size smaller' still applies to MTB frames...
-
• #445
Yeah, it's a large, I'd love a p7, I looked at getting a newer one before I did the marino, bloody expensive though.
-
• #446
What is an orange p7? about what bike are you refering?
sorry but all this vocabulary is new for me ;-) -
• #447
Although it'll be an older version.
