re: camping
a big group of Americans did it last summer, the pics looked amazing. Just need to find somewhere with an amazing court!theres a video knocking around somewhere, i think i saw it on vimeo, its possible we could find a camp ground with a 5 a side or tennis court, or we could 'urban' camp at an old military base or abandoned leisure centre or something!

the adjusters have already fallen off, but the little bit of metal still gets turned a bit, minor problem though

my list of tings:
More people that we keep hold of and fast track train.
Host a good NS tawny.
I'd love an indoor space.
Regular meetings for sorting stuff out/beers.
Boards at powerhouse. -

Drew's achievable ideas for the Manchester polo group in 2012:
- More players, obviously leading to teams setup and mini tourneys etc.
- Drills/training stuff for new and old, mostly new though (possibly before throw-in's).
- Other courts possibly with a couple together for either a knock about while a game is going or simultaneous games.
- Proper known identity, sponsored demo days or linking with the whole IBikeMCR lark?
- Socials; bike maintainence, mallets, Pot luck style eating stuff or just getting wankered on a regular basis.
- Indoor courts for those people who complain about rain :).
I can give time I may have hidden talents though.
Camping sounds like an awesome plan. - More players, obviously leading to teams setup and mini tourneys etc.

i think i would get BB7s if i was to buy new ones for whatever reason but im sticking up for BB5s as a good budget choice

i have dual BB'5 and there really good, low lever resistance, endo easly, skid easily and the pair was £30
a trials guy in Edinburgh at the house we stayed at had dual hydraulic disks, i was drunk and couldnt really figure it out but from what i remember he had a larger master cylinder off a motorbike that both breaks went to and it just sort of evened out the force between them equally, not much front rear modulation though i guess
Nah, that was just a hose splitter for a Magura rim-brake. All it does is tidy up the hoses. It is just a T shaped hose-mount so you can run the calipers in parallel rather than series and is still a single brake system.
If you attach one of those to make a dual brake hydro system it won't work without an extra bunch of modification. You'll get double the amount of lever travel as you'd need to displace double the amount of fluid to get both brakes to contact.
If you get the right calipers and right lever it should work. But it's all about matching up the fluid displacements and so far I aint bothered my backside to follow it up.
Too many projects.

My two pence re: website
Was speaking to Neil about this at Cambridge. As for polo promotion and the number of players, moving off the edinburghfixedgear.co.uk forum onto our own one at Edinburghbikepolo.com was one of the best things we done. For player numbers we're now sitting at around 10 folk playing twice a week of a pool of around 30 who drop in and out.
Get it done!

I found some moto trials levers which are a bit more of a normal size than moto-x levers. The master cylinders come separately then you bolt them on and helpfully they tell you the size of the piston. The problem I have is that bicycle brake manufactures don't want to give you techy details like piston sizes. I'm just going to have to go to a shop with a mixed stock of brake calipers and ask to measure the pistons there. I have seen a dual hydraulic lever for a recumbent tricycle but they're a silly price.

ah i did say i was drunk, probably that whisky you were passing around :)

Colinagreed, i think when we do get the site up and running adding a forum would be good, there really easy to set up and we could keep it all about the polo

Cheap deep-ish wheels and dual brake creator thing on the way. Polo bike pimping shall gradually occur.
If the old back gets fixed-ish it will be used until destruction, but sadly I don't know a decent mechanic to fix it :D

get a dremel and do anything.

I don't actually trust myself with power tools. I would get bored and start drilling/dremeling things around the flat, then instantly regret it.

what do you want to do with the wheel I've got? I can get another rim and rebuild it again but the hub needs to be respaced a bit to even out the dish so it doesn't implode again, this will fuck with your chainline, I reckon it'd be better to have a slightly off chainline and a properly dished wheel than the other way round. won't be able to do this by tomorrow though
