Thanks for all the positive comments guys, it seems like you all enjoyed it. Just one small error to correct: Any profit (or loss) goes to the Southern Counties Cycling Union. I organise it for them in an honorary capacity, alongside my day job. The BristowEvents thing was so that I didn't have to have a different website for each event that I organise. .

What an amazing day that was. Great to hear about competitors connected to lfgss. Stylish event and enjoyable day hosted by HH and the organisers. I bet everyone there thought similar. Thanks all those involved.
There was a moment when the large number of dernys getting ready to tow 14 riders, one each, reminded me strongly of this, the cover art on Dead Kennedys' 'Frankenchrist'.^

How hotly contested is the racing in this?
How high is the calibre? -

Ha. That's the time he raced with sean, no?
But in the current years, what's it like?
-
• #89
^Very hotly, and in a non-Olympic year there will be a much higher star quotient than last! This is a great track meet where the locals can get their arses kicked by top riders, I've either ridden or watched it since God was a kid. Unmissable!

Hmm. Thanks.

What level do you need to be at to take part?

^ where do i sign up?

Not being funny, but if you have to ask you probably aren't good/experienced enough. Probably a year of track league and Open races.
The 'support' level races are about the standard of A cat track races.

I just wondered how much out of town talent comes to this. As at the open weekends it's limited. But for this might be greater, like the other big open events.

The fact it's not an open, and it's called the Good Friday INTERNATIONAL should indicate enough, no?
Or a glance at the winners from previous years? For the terminally lazy or stupid, I'll tell you: it'll be a mix of foreign professional riders, GB team (academy, podium, previous) and the better (or more "well known") local riders. There are usually a lot of sprinters because the event gives them the chance to get their outdoor season off to a bang whilst getting an arse kicking from the GB squad.
In the endurance events you may see fields far larger than any other meet, meaning the quality of rider has to be of exceptional standard not to cause stacks everywhere.

But if I rock up on my Langster I can have a go, right?
-

Great day out and we were due some sunshine this year,
It's even earlier this year, so again, unlikely!
TBH it's not a proper Good Friday if at least a portion isn't rained off.It would be amazing if the infield is completed before, because the hard standing and warm-up track would make things easier in the middle.

But if I rock up on my Langster I can have a go, right?
Sure, just get a free induction at 1000, ask for Clem or Barry.

Thanks RPM.
However as a point, it is E1234, so maybe that needs adjusting, as it implies its open to all levels really.
At last, here are a few shots from Friday.
