I had been looking forwards to this for ages, and then Mrs Q was ill.
I had to console myself with watching the worlds on TV. -

Friend was riding.presumably his silence means he got blown out the back..

Four of the five Luddfolk attended today. Good stuff, if a little cool towards the end. I took a shedload of photos and will post some in due course.

Didn't get there till 3pm but still had a cracking time. My first ever experience of live track racing definitely won't be my last.

And LFGSS sponsored vsprint rider Pete Mitchell won the main sprint event

Lovely day at the races
Great seeing all the faces

There did seem to be a degree of mechanical doping in some of the races:

Worst Moto GP ever.

Was a top top day. Jack kirk in th
e derny race was the highlight for me. -

Fantastic day. Seemed like EVERYONE was down there soaking up the sun while it lasted, the atmosphere and ahem the booze :)
I didn't watch much of the racing. Must try harder next time.

Awesome day for racing today.
Great win for forum member Tricky Business in the devil, and also great to see some other HH regulars putting in some strong efforts.Channel 4 were also there in force today, getting footage of Jody Cundy for a GB Paralympic series they are doing.

I don't go there to watch the racing; I go there to meet all my friends. Apologies to my friends who race.
-
• #67
Well I'm glad I didn't pay good money for that, what a load of rubbish.
-

^Seems a little schizophrenic, given your earlier posts. At the very least, lecturing other people for complaining about the price of tickets when you didn't pay seems a little off.

Sarcasm recognition fail.
TB did pay, an entry fee to race.

Ah, facepalm. Excuse is was smashed when I posted.

Ha ha, I was completely smashed when I posted too, it wasn't exactly the finest example of wit. Neither are most of my sober posts tbf.
So to rectify my earlier comment - that was £12 well spent in anyone's book. £16 in my case and worth every penny.

Congrats on the Devil win. It was all a bit in at the deep end for me but that was my first track race for 23 years so pretty pleased to stay in for 10 laps before running out of room on the fence. Probably just as well, lungs were shot by then.
Great fun!

Cheers. You'll win it next year, this is only my second season back after 15 years out.
