Very nice! I'm a big fan of the "classic" Campag 9/10 speed group and in my experience they ride really well too. It all looks just right.

thanks guys, I'm glad the wait turned out to be worth it. It'll take some more/better photos when the weather clears up

very nice-love the slim tubes and forks and great build!

Nailed! Solid.

out of interest Spotter, how much did the groupset cost you overall?
-
• #112
The whole bike has probably cost me <£300, most of it was the groupset. My top tip is to keep your eye out for listings ending at awkward times, i.e. weekday afternoons when people are in work
-
• #113
this bike is so much, im serious I will buy it off you when ur done!

Cheers, I only asked as I've just bought a fillet brazed roberts frame for £150 and want to build it up with Veloce 10spd on the cheap!

the only things I bought new were the casette, chain and BB. You can save money by getting some scuffed up bits and repolishing them yourself like I did.

This thread made me join LFGSS, really nice work!

• #118
Really? Becuase I started the thread on the 10th of February and you joined on the 2nd.
Get back in your cage evader. -

I love what you have done with this.
One adjustment I would make is the bars, possibly to a classic shape with a deeper drop. They look very compact on this build, but I guess it is a matter of personal preference.
-
• #120
Thanks, the mail reason i picked those bars is so i could get really flat tops, drops were a secondly consideration really
-
• #121
Looks great :) I love the bars too, they work well on my Mottram.
-
• #122
If you are happy, who am I to quibble? It does look awesome.
-
• #123
you liking the bars so far then jack?
-
• #124
loving them, I'm getting a pair for my tourer too. My only minor quibble is that there could be a grove for the cables, but as i said thats minor
-
• #125
you know how to fix that problem though. lose the cables :)
I'd been regretting not buying this, but the picture (in which the bike looks lovely) proves that it would have been too large for me.
So- end of regrets.
