  • Alternatively, it would really help the NS if someone wanted to help with the website and procuring sponsorship.

  • I'm happy to help if it's something I can do, website and sponsorship isn't really an area I have any skills in.

  • It doesn't really serve our purpose as far as the NS is concerned so it would be pretty much entirely for your own benefit.

To put it another way, it will get done if you do it and will involve some work but no glory.

  • I'll leave the idea floating around here for a few days to see if people are interested. If people want to do it, I'll do what I can to help it happen.

  • Rob, we can do it between us, it won't be much work.

  • Let me know what you want me to do, I'd imagine you're a little better at this sort of thing than me, but I'm happy to what I'm told

  • Whats the deal with accomodation? Tents? i dont have a tent, is there a gymn we can kip in?

  • +1

  • I asked Ninja the other week when I was over, he mentioned that there was a "quiet room" allocated to sleeping. Bring your own sleeping bags and roll mats. No need for tents, especially bed tents.

  • Ok, so I've added a tournament on http://hardcourtbikepolo.org/

If you can register accounts for yourself, and add your teams, that would be awesome.

I'll then later on make dummy accounts for anyone who isn't registered already.

Note, this is purely for stats collection.

    1. Pouces En L'air!
    2. Dead Rappers
    3. Dino’s
    4. Hackney Goal Slotters
    5. 5g
    6. Black Stabbath
    7. Bubonic Plays (Rob)
    8. The Commies
    9. Skip Rats
      10 Nice Touch
      11 Hacked Off
      12 Passed It
      13 Killer Queens
      14 Get.In.wild
      15 Be Right On
      16 SoYo PoLo Co
      17 Polosapiens
      18 Spring Break
      19 Yomoyo
      20 TBA (Cardiff)

Team list with the mcr team names added. I've put my name in brackets after the team name as I'm registered on http://www.hardcourtbikepolo.org/, if you've done the same then please add your name to the list and I'll start chasing people up in a week.

  • By the way, if your team mates aren't registered, you can just add the team, and add them as new players (if you are sure they aren't in the system), and they can claim the account later.

Pouces, Nice Touch and HGS are all done.

  • So now you've done that, NT will always be Max/Cam/Josh ?

  • commies registered on the hcbp.org list. sure that shoulda been easier than i made it lol

  • No, just for that tournament

  • In terms of the stats site, What happens if a team line up changes before the tourney?

The reason I ask is yomoyo may need a sub for me as my dad has picked that weekend to come over from the states.

  • Bubonic Plays done

  • Are they using podium? Vince says there will be a linkup between podium and hardcourtbikepolo.org

I was planning on using Challonge but happy to use Podium if someone can create a tourney and show me how to use it.

  • Rich, just go with whatever you like.

  • Podium requires an internet connection unless you have the skills to run it offline. It's also a nightmare if something goes wrong as you'll be emailing America with your finger's crossed.

I'd use Challonge until we get the full skinny on how to amend Podium during tournaments.

  • i thought you needed an internet connection for challonge as well? at least i did at the v day tourney

  • Challonge needs an internet connection. I think you can in theory install a local copy of podium to avoid needing the internet connection. But yeah, I always go with Challonge, though there are some things I don't like about it, how it pairs teams in Swiss, and how it orders teams by wins, not points, in RR.

Hopefully there will be changes to Podium this year to make it more usable.

  • Vince would probably let us know how to run it properly, his email is: tourney@hardcourtpodium.com

The big concerns are how to edit the results if there's a mistake (refs can use their phones to input scores but can input the info incorrectly).

Challonge may not be ideal, but I get the impression it's easy enough to amend as you go. (Adding another round to swiss, amending scores until the round's finished, etc.)
