  • Challonge may not be ideal, but I get the impression it's easy enough to amend as you go. (Adding another round to swiss, amending scores until the round's finished, etc.)

Yeah, that's really nice about Challonge.

  • Dino's are up on HBP - Ollie can't make it so Dino line up is Me, Prav and Jack from Tournedos.

  • Unfortunately I have been really tied up with my business over the past couple of weeks so my apologies to all for the lack of information posted on the LFGSS forum. After a meeting with Andre yesterday, I can now provide you all with some more information about this event! First and foremost – IT’S GOING TO BE AWESOME!!

    Schedule:

Players are welcome to come and settle in to Campus from 18.00 on Friday 9th March. There will be a few of us on site to greet you and show you around the facility.

The court will be open for throw-ins from 20.00 until 23.00. There is a skate event being held on the Friday in the indoor skate park next door. There will be a band playing and lots of other stuff going on. Here is a flyer for that..

We are trying to encourage everyone who turns up on the Friday to join us for a crazy night at ‘Barry Mores Pool Party’ in Stokes Croft. £5 gets you into the party and believe me, it is a WILD night!

Court re-opens at 09:00 on Saturday morning. If you are arriving on Saturday, please aim to get to the venue as early as possible so that we can start the tourney at 10.00. The court will be open all day for play and remain open until 23.00.

Saturday night is also film night. There will be premiers of various polo/bike related films being shown in the skate park. There will also be (80’s?!) music and boozing throughout the evening and bike related games going on around the venue.

The court once again opens at 09:00 on Sunday morning with games scheduled to begin at 10.00. The tourney will be finishing no later than 17.00 to give people time to get home at a sensible hour (unless home is Hungary of course!).

    Travel:

The address of the venue is:

    The College
    Timsbury Walk
    Bedminster
    BS3 5JJ

If you get in the area and get lost, I (Ady) will be available to call on 07905 616176 on Friday night and Saturday morning. Just call me and I will come and find you!!

The nearest train station is Bristol Temple Meads. This is about 20 mins on a polo gear I think.

If you are arriving by car (or tour bus for the posh teams) then we have ample free parking on-site for you.

    Security:

There is a secure indoor bike storage room in the hall and there will be someone on site 24hrs to let people in and out.

    Accommodation:

We have several large warm rooms at Campus for people to sleep in. You will need to bring a mat/blow up bed and a sleeping bag. One of the rooms will be a ‘quiet room’. We have gymnasium style crash mats that we will be putting down should you want to use them. There are several (proper) toilets and changing rooms dotted around the venue.

    Food & Drink:

We have on-site catering for the whole weekend and a cheap well-stocked bar. There are also takeaways and off licences in the area.

AND FINALLY….AS THIS IS A NS EVENT, WE ARE OPENING UP A FURTHER 2 TEAM PLACES. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 22 TEAMS SIGNED UP. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER A TEAM, PLEASE EMAIL US bristolopen2012@gmail.com.

THE FIRST TWO EMAILS RECEIVED WILL GRAB A PLACE!

I hope I have covered everything, but if I think of anything or if you have any questions, please post.

SEE YOU IN JUST OVER A WEEK!!!

  • quick lets get a 4th manc team in!

We have parking for a double decker bus.

  • Ok, so there isn't any point turning up earlier than 6 on Friday then? Was debating to take a day off to come down earlier, but I'll just get the last off peak train then.

There are a couple of outdoor courts nearby but the indoor court will not be available until 20:00. If you want to come down earlier to play throw-ins at one of our local courts, by all means do. I am sure there will be people around. Maybe get a list going on here to see if it will be worth it?

  • No, my main reason for coming down would be to get used to that court.

  • Shoulda had a secret reconnaissance mission last weekend!

How did you find the surface?

  • Followed your directions.

  • Followed your directions.

  • Dusty, but grippy when clean. Bit of ripple in the boards near the viewing gallery, didn't run the ball across it much but when I first crossed the ripples I though my wheel was screwed.

  • im on the 2000 from paddington on fri night and the 1800 on sunday

  • Ok, I'm not able to make it now, so yomoyo are looking for a sub... Paul co(w)hen has first refusal, but if anyone else wants to sub, apply to me! :)

Bribes need to be in the form of beer, drugs or money :)
