  • hahaha I've no idea when they were looking at it :P

  • Have we had how to tell if someone has digitally juiced their ride yet? Well, the answer is to zoom in.

    1. Clean ride. The speed is nice and smooth:

    1. Digitally doped. The speed is all lumpy and bumpy.

  • You'd have to be a pretty sad individual to do e-dopage.

  • You'd have to be a pretty sad individual to do Strava.

    Quite.

  • Yeah, I just rely on an old phone spazzing out.
I got 2nd on a hill months ago, it thought I speeded up from 15mph to 30mph when I was actually slowing down to a stop. Riding home tonight and I almost matched it with strava behaving

  • Laurens Ten Dam's recording of today's stage of the tour...

    http://app.strava.com/activities/66345103

135miles, 27.5mph average speed, 111bpm average heart rate

    There's a challenge!

  • 111bpm average heart rate?

his heart rate drops down to 60bpm while riding at 24mph, to be honest I find it hard to believe

  • Why? He's a highly trained athlete riding along in a large bunch of riders with his team mates taking the wind for him.

    Very much this.

    Quite.

...and a bit of this. It's not racing and it never will be (except in the flabby heart of a mamil.)

I enjoy following interesting riders and pro's but otherwise, rarely use it.

(I used it to record my rides for the Festive 500 and haven't used it since - I'll have to use ot for Rapha Rising from Sunday and then it'll be off again.)

No the challenge is to find 200 riders to sit around you and the roads to deal with the 200 riders.

  • An interesting article about Strava removing functionality:

    http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/07/cutting-removing-functionality.html

  • From that article, on the new ban on recumbants:

This seemed pretty wonky to me, given they would permit time-trial and triathlon bikes yet somehow disallow recumbent bikes. Even further when you think about it, it’s perfectly fine to organize 100 of your friends into a peloton and cruise along at 40MPH to snipe a segment, but not OK to do so in the lawn chair position.

starts thread titled "99 riders needed for 3 minutes

  • I'll go one better than that - 99 recumbents needed for 3 minutes

In relation to this, any premium Strava members care to download and send me a GPX file from a ride, seems I am no longer able to do this and I'll be damned if I'm paying $6 for the privilege of not getting lost in Epping. PM meeee.

  • strava has just uploaded a ride as a run, how can i edit this?

  • Edit ride - Change type.

  • it just gives me types of run, not rides

maybe i will claim i was kite surfing around west london

  • Mine did that yesterday too. I could change it to a 'Ride' though. After uploading and retrying that 3 times, it finally worked.

  • Strava now uploads my ride as a run, then won't let me change it. When I delete it, it claims it is deleted, but it stays in my Profile. Then when I try to reupload it claims there is a duplicate file. Bullshit.

  • Setting on your device/ tag in your file?

  • It sort of resolved itself. Sort of, because data then began disappearing and I had to reuploaded. It reuploaded as a run (again), then magically changed into a ride about 5 mins later.

    Strava, you crazy.

  • strava no let me share to facebook...
how am i going to impress all zee hot ladeez i add who i never met now?

  • Strava is currently massively underestimating the elevation gain of my rides. Not helpful when I'm trying to do Rapha Rising with only limited free time.

  • ^^ Post the url into facebook. Facebook then drags more info over to make it a fancy link with a preview
