  • ^ Astonishing band name

  • Just done a search and they're still releasing material. Sounds really good, reminds me of Slint. May have to buy. Don't think I'll rush out for the t shirt though!

  • @T-V - it mainly involves getting up at 5am, being out the house around 6am, and being back by noon without the luxury of then falling asleep on the sofa; instead I usually have to go and kick a ball around in a park, or do comedy fast-walking behind a microscooter of bicycle for a few hours. It's OK though, as I enjoy riding through the dawn.

I do sometimes get the train home once I'm in affordable Oyster territory - I'd rather get those 10 miles done in peace and quiet rather than fucking knackered and in urban Sunday douchebag traffic. Well worth the ~£2.50.

  • ^^ Will have a look for that, only got Umber/Star Booty any more. Guess I didn't give too much thought to my username. Still, I'm sure I would have got the same reaction if I'd plumped for Gibby Haynes' lot, or for the wonderful RevCo.

My mistake. It's just remastered versions of the original albums. As you were :-)

Check out Seam and Slint if you don't already know of them. Both very good.

  • Boris bike mileage not included.

  • I love this website! I'm now addicted to see which local roads and hills I've never cycled and get them coloured in Amidar style! Here's my spiderweb for 2012 (3222 miles total)...

    John

  • Virus ^

  • pretty weak, but I only used strava for 4-5 months this year and run out of battery on the DD....

    #needagarmin

  • Some shameless upping of the opacity there?

  • thought that was just there to make it more obvious where you've been...

  • Dammit do you hate everywhere north of London?

  • thought that was just there to make it more obvious where you've been...

Opacity is interesting because it gives idea of frequency I guess.

Ludwig you lurker, post your 2012 map.

  • ^ Tried, but would not fit on page ;-)

  • Mine doesn't scale well with rides in Oz..

  • I'm not posting mine because it's just a big scribble in central south-west London, with one spidery loop out to the Surrey Hills and one to the North Downs, and three tiny, barely-visible strings in Italy.

Maybe in 2013 I will learn some more routes and make it look slightly more interesting?

  • My 2012 map is crap and doesn't have any comedy "kind of looks like a cock and balls if you squint a bit" features or anything. It's also missing every ride I did abroad, which would at least have made it a bit more interesting.

  • ^ this. My map makes it look like I never leave London so I'm ashamed of it as it makes me feel less cultured and wordly. #firstworldstravaproblems

  • I went through a stage of using strava to confuse people (never making return trips), which doesn't help. This year is going to be more serious: serious riding, serious strava-ing. Maybe.

  • Buy Gramin, join AudaxUK. It's what all the cool kids are doing.

  • Well aren't I boring?

  • A bit sick to death of the standard routes out of London into Essex. Think I may start catching the train out or back on some rides this year.

Ditto. I'm very near to Hackney Downs, I think I'm going to start riding out early then getting the train back from a station on that line.

Dammit do you hate everywhere north of London?

He needs to get out more :P

only really about 7 months worth as i broke my garmin/lost enthusiasm for long rides

What happened dude, what happened? :(

I doubt this very much as I did both these things in 2011 and as it seems very unlikely I was that ahead of a trend!

Mine - 2848 miles that I recorded (I don't record everything). Not enough!

Has made me realise there is a whole country (well three, technically) out there and I need to do more riding around it.

  • Not much. Commuting and short rides not included. More miles this year and less no accidents.

  • I like the route you took back from Margate!

  • I don't record my pedalo rides
