  • It's ridiculous, isn't it? I mean I did weigh it with the rack on, plus a full water bottle, plus mini-saddlebag with toolkit inside, but for god's sake. I figure with my own heft added the combined weight must be approaching the Chandrasekhar limit. Bridges are probably collapsing all over the UK in my wake.

  • Just need to find 2 more seconds for the KOM on the Coldharbour Top Sprint but I am determined to do it in the saddle and fixed

  • Imagine my excitement when, upon succumbing to Strava-itis I discovered that there was a 'segment' (is that the right word?) right behind my house. So I set off to rampage it in jeans and a t-shirt and got the KOM on my very first day out on a new bike.

But 'cos it's right behind my house and falls within my hidden zone of secretness it's not registered and Steve Whatever still retains the KOM according to strava. Damn you Steve, I spanked you.

  • the only logical thing to do is find or create a segment outside his house and do the same

  • Move house.

  • Which segment?

    .

  • Agggghhhh.....buried myself in Richmond Park this morning, only for Strava to show that I actually rode an RP-shaped route around Houslow. WTF? Is this the gods of Mars messing with our satellites in response to us disturbing their peace....?

A mate of mine rode from tottenham court road back to hackney, only for it to show up as a nice little swim somewhere off the west coast of africa!

  • I just weighed one of my bikes, Dammit-style, so I could get a power output calculation for a journey. The box where you add the weight says lbs, so I put in 51 for 23kg*. Got an error message back saying that the max bike weight you can add is 50kg. Genius.

*this made me feel a lot less like Dammit

There's a maximum user weight limit. Check the T&C's.

  • I've been enjoying Strava this week- last three weeks of being off the bike to this week being back, and it makes it really easy to see that you are getting faster as fitness returns.

Last three weeks: 0 hours, 0 miles.
This week: 7 hours, 90 miles.

Feels great being back on two wheels

  • I finally discovered the 'just my times' thingummy on leaderboards so I can see how I've done over the last year. Sitting at 10bpm lower than 2011 for same speed over a given course = smiles.

  • I like the "filter by age group" thing, as I suddenly do a lot better in most (but far from all) segments

Me too! My bpm on the 'Sofa spot with good view of TV' segment has also improved since last year.

  • I like looking at porn sites.. my hr increases by an average of 12.7% compared to browsing work-related sites.

  • ^^ but you're the only one riding that segment typically these days aren't you?

  • You'd be surprised.

Everyone's unique.. until they find a bunch of sick and twisted like-minded bastards in some corner of the internet..

Still holding the KOM on 'Epic Climb from Sofa to Kettle'?

  • cough

  • What is the meaning this?!

    Segment?

  • Coldharbour Top Sprint

  • Stevo, have a go on his driveway...

  • Have done, nearly fucking killed me

  • It would clearly be deeply immature to go and smash that at some point over the weekend.

Mainly because I've been off the bike for three weeks following foot surgery, so I'll probably be crap.

  • Walworth Road

I could do this all day

  • I can feel my maturity level dropping.

  • last one...

    London Road

    ...for tonight

Someone really shouldn't have pointed out the filters to me
