I've become addicted to this. Although the KOM is killing me on some segments

I'm outside Stevo's right now, skinsuit, sperm helmet, disc wheel and trispoke.
Coldharbour lane won't know what hit it.

Got up this morning with every intention of improving my times for Walworth Road, London Road and Waterloo Bridge Nth... then I get a puncture whilst hooning it, ffs.

Where's this filtering malarkey then?
-
• #1231
I quite like the idea of a KOM tour of the IOM at the moment...

When you're viewing a segment is on the left. By age, people I'm following etc

You'd be most welcome.

Cycled to work for the first time today and got KOM on a segment near my workplace, well, top spot shared with 4 other people.
I might try riding in again as I'd only need to go one second faster to upset 4 people at once, u mad bro? -
• #1235
Likewise, I'm two seconds of KOM on one of my commute segments, and I haven't even used my geared bike yet.
I also need to remember to press the "Finish Ride" button. Last week a 1.9 mile journey to me three and a half hours....
-
• #1236
was you riding with Iain?
-
• #1237
I've got a journey that won't upload... Has been failing since about the 8th... Tryed logging out and in again (as the help files suggest) any other ideas?
-
• #1238
Uploading from a Garmin? Probably a corrupt file, usually still an open tag in the .tcx. I found something that parses and sorts errors, but it's on a computer I don't currently have access to and can't remember the name of.

Sorry should have said, iPhone app.

I seem to be able to ride the same route and get different elevation every time!?
And by 100s of feet. -
• #1242
Mobile phone GPSes seem particularly useless at calculating altitude.
-
• #1243
I ride the same route every day, about 1 in 10 rides has either a GPS error which throws me 300m off the road or 100m into the air, or a few miles with no data points.
I use a 2 year old Samsung GalaxyS(1).

My S3 occasionally sends me to the equator and back
-
• #1245
I haven't searched but for BlackBerry lusers like myself I use GPS logger II
You have to manually export and upload but you do not have to wait for a data connection like the rest of the apps. Just start logging and ride and so far it hasn't missed a beat, the elevation thing seems consistent and I have had no unintentional trips to Africa or the like.

Ever thought of cropping your 850w average, 55mile train ride from Havent so it just shows the 8miles of cycling at the end?
Just an idea, only it's left you with a 5 minute best performance of 1,216w! lol
-
• #1247
Ha. Yeah I can pause logging on the app but at 5am I forget to start it as I just want to get on the train and back to sleep.

How is watts calculated on Strava?

• #1249
Badly.
( it's covered up-thread )

And on the site itself in the Glossary.
I don't know how to do that.
