you posted the video of seabase riding the stelvio pass with his fixed gear bike. as the video is edited, i just wanna to know, if he rode only some uphill/downhill parts with breaks or the whole way uphill in one run (without stops) and then downhill without stops (sorry for my bad english)

He rode up without stopping. He stopped at the top for a drink and then rode all the way down.
This is one of 16 alpine passes Seabase has ridden and conquered in the last 2 years.

So, why do you think that Louis Garneau would put a nose cone on a time trial racing frame at all then?!
So, why do you think every other manufacturer doesn't?

No, but I ride in the Alps a fair bit and done London to Paris a few times... all on one gear ratio. Even if I did live in Highgate, I'd still make the effort to only use one gear ratio!!
i think i'd still prefer to burn it down an alpine descent on 53/11 and up a climb on 39/whatever. i definitely prefer highgate hill with gears too

ok, thanks. then i'm impressed, as it's not easy to go up without stopping, especially with that fixed-ratio

I don't care to be honest. I asked what you thought... I guess it's cheaper not to, if you are building lots of bikes. Extra labor/metal/paint...

What Seabase does is indeed very hard and requires a lot of strength and tenacity, but i can't help but find it too pointless (as opposed to the regular pointlessness of doing it on a road bike). Something like doing a transatlantic on a pedal boat. But it is definitely possible, although too hard for most people.

One day, I hope to be able to say that I rode over the Stelvio on a fixed gear bike. I'll add that to "I landed a few 360 flips on my skateboard", "rode to Paris 10 times on a fixed gear" and many other pointless trivial things I may have achieved in my life.
I hope.
Now post some pointless HHSB pictures someone, please!!!

Obviously for the challenge and the satisfaction, with that mentality do you not begin to question riding down cliffs on snowboards, racing hills on luges, doing back flips on motorbikes....?

can someone please make an offical chart of the scoring system so we every bike can be provided with a calculated score so its clear what level of rad-to-the-max-ness every whip is working at
