not really a current project so posting here...
If I build this back up, I'm thinking about a 30mm rake fork (Alpina?) instead of a 44mm rake like the Tifosi that's on there now....
thoughts? what will be the main differences?
flatter tt? more twitchy? tighter front clearance?
The axle to crown on those Tifosi forks is huge, fitting Alpina will give you even more bro pro + much tighter clearances... win all round.

I think you can also tell by eye - with my leaders it's very obvious they're a 44. The tifosi on your gara 'look' like 35s. I don't think you'll notice much difference in aesthetics or handling if you went to alpinas. They're pretty easy to pick up 2nd hand if you want to check them out without splashing out.
they're not, I have a wanted thread with no replies for almost a week now
easiest method to measure a rake : lay it flat on the table, and measure the distance from the ground to the middle of axle in the dropouts.

Inspired, that colorway.
A worthy pea, but the damage to the wall is putting me right off.

Baddest Low. Is it in Leeds?

First generation Specialized trispokes were a matt carbon weave, whereas later Specialized and HEDs use a more glossy weave. I think that's a second gen and the photo just makes it look matt though.

1st gens were coated matt black, it's not the weave. Pretty sure Tp88 has painted his black though

Leeds based.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's all subjective at the end of the day.
The front wheel is the later Specialized, it isn't a matt finish but is far less glossy then the new ones. It's just the photo that gives this impression.

the low would be awesome if the stickers had the same mad fadez as the forks.

They do have alu break surface, it's disguised with the classic black elecy tape with a nice photoshop carbon effect.

nope. first ones were made out of carbon fiber blend with some other plastic and covered in something black, only then they started to expose the weave. lpus, due to the overtake, the latest specialized = oldest heds in terms of look/construction

best part of this whole thing is that your porch is lo pro
Quick geek question
Can anyone confirm how the toestraps and hipsterstraps are fixed to clipless pedals?
tricky to tell, but the photo above makes it look like they drill/tap the pedal body and add a clamp plate
EDIT: Quick UTFS gave this: http://www.cyclingforums.com/t/481067/clipless-pedals-with-toe-straps
Apparently they're just held onto the hollowed bit with a cable tie.
and this: http://www.startbikeracing.com/index.php/track/equipment?start=2 - it's bollocks anyway, Theo Bos uses shimano clipless - he need no hipsterstrap.
That said, it's a good look, and this is the slave thread.....
