Cheapish LFGSS merino jersey sounds good!
Jerseys on the Oregon site look nice - will the lettering be stictched or printed?

I'm just waiting for tillover to let us know what the guy from woolistic can offer before doing a poll and seeing what the options are..... The price I said up top was for basic flock, 2 lines asked on 15 people buying.... All fag packet calculations, I might add!
We can all decide on colour, manufacturer, lettering etc, when we get some prices from woolistic..... That's even if we get 15 people interested! -

im in for a jersey, 205 again this year. staying near gaoile. advise people to sort their accommodation early, as if you want to stay close, its limited.

I'm in too, have pledged for the 205km but after 2010 when I finished in the dark in front of an elderly gentleman (started too late, a few mechanicals) I may go with a shorter route and a chance to enjoy a glass of red in the piazza.
I'd be up for a jersey if an order is going in, sounds cool.
Obviously plenty of logistics to sort but the most important is which bike - the Raleigh Panasonic that limped through in 2010 (broken spoke in rear wheel, puncture, loose bars, flapping front brake) or the more recently acquired Mercian? Both are poorly set up in the photos but decisions, decisions.....

just a quick jersey update.......Ive asked Velocio if it's ok to use the forum logo on the shirts and he says its fine......a donation to the forum will have to be forthcoming though ;o)
I've just emailed Chad (yep, real name) at Oregon to get him to give me a ballpark quote for 15 jerseys with 2 lines of lettering on, delivered....and I've also asked him if any of his previous UK clients had been hit with import tax....it's another thing to think about and budget for if we decide to go ahead.
I am a bit worried about taking responsibility for everyone's dosh, to be honest though....I reckon I would have to set up a seperate paypal account so that people could pay by gift, before sending it all off when it is complete?
If anyone wanted to do this part of it, I would be happy to relinquish the reins!
I'll wait for a reply from Chad before putting a thread in classifieds to register interest and a poll to democratically choose the design/lettering......although I want a black one with black lettering on the white band!! -

nice one stedlocks, but please, not black! that's hell to ride in when it's 30+ degrees :-/

Looks like I can't go to L'eroica this year, not least due to the fact that I'm Best Man at a wedding in London on the Friday. It's still do-able, but only just.
I therefore have a Deluxe Double Room in the Castello di Spaltenna that is surplus to requirements.
I have the room from the 4th - 9th October, as me and Mrs JJ were planning to make a decent holiday out of it. It's pretty pricey (1,100 Euro's), but is in the perfect location. I plan to shift my booking a week or two earlier, but I'll hold it for a week or so, if anyone fancies taking it over, PM me.
Cheers.

just a quick jersey update....
I think the Jersey is a shit idea! If you were a proper "work m8" you would help me choose the "hipster" parts for my new, up-and-coming "hip hop slave bike" project, instead of sorting out jerseys for people you don't know, to take on a stupid retro bike trip.
Lol. Pat, put my name down, I'll have one. There's no way I'm wearing it, when I get the slave sled running.
You retro lot want to look at this... 57 pages in three and a half months, this is where it's at.

The yarn is medium gauge, so it is quite thick. Last year, I was cooking in the near 40°C heat and I think it accelerated the dehydration process. Mine is black, so it may have made matters worse although funnily enough I did not get tanned at all last year. It's perfect on cooler days, but if the temperature rises, it may not be ideal. If it had full length zip, then I think it would have helped.
Also, someone mentioned Woolistic stuff being made in China; Chad's goods are also made in China, if anyone gives a toss.
And, yes, I am in for this year again. Wife and daughter have also entered this year -- got seduced by last year's scene, apparently.
Peter V, will I see you at Retro Ronde in July? I am planning to be there unless shit hits the fan at work...

Good one! I don't know about the Retro Ronde yet, I'm in the French Alps the last week of June and I'm not sure if I'll make it back in time. It would be nice though.

Yes, I saw something similar when I looked to book accommodation in Siena - I think it's something like 1.5 euros/person/night so not too big a deal in the scheme of things.
-
• #197
Thanks I was worried. The thing is that they will charge it even if you cancel your reservation, isn't it? That is what I understood. I sent an email to the hotel asking how much is it.

me too
looking at the routes Peter V has suggested,(as examples), the calorific expenditure is between
3-7.5 thousand calories, I've been dropping weight training so far ,and I'm not big anyway, so I think some food
supplements (i.e. protein drinks) are in order.
I've done a couple of marathons and other things, and I found it helped maintain weight.
Cheapish LFGSS merino jersey sounds good!
