fingers crossed they sort it for you tika

  • it was on the 29th our time

  • me too
looking at the routes Peter V has suggested,(as examples), the calorific expenditure is between
3-7.5 thousand calories, I've been dropping weight training so far ,and I'm not big anyway, so I think some food
supplements (i.e. protein drinks) are in order.
I've done a couple of marathons and other things, and I found it helped maintain weight.

those were training rides :-) the actual l'Eroica last year cost 8.598 cal accoring to my Garmin. eat well at all stops, have 1 or 2 bananas and/or powerbars in between if you can eat easily

  • not on a shimano sprocket set is it?

  • Hi,
New to this forum, but I wanted to say I did this ride last year on a 1953 Claud Butler Silver Jubilee. the ride and the event was somthing I'll remember for a long time. Hoping to build up a 1976 Colnago Super to ride the year if I can find the parts for the build. If any one is going over this year from the Manchester area and wants to split the costs then let me know.

  • Just got this in the post.

Not quite 'Heroic' era but pretty good for £12 and should look good with my bike I just finished.

Is that my friend, Alastair Ricket from Glasgow?

No way! Yes it is. He's a friend of yours???

We were both members of the V-CC and used to meet up at some of the events. Also had meals with him when we were in Glasgow (not that often). He built some frames with very fancy lugs and some in the modern-style for a few friends. I guess he only built a handful over the years so quite a rare bird. Like your build by the way and will look for you in Gaiole. Will be on a 1957 Cinelli Corsa and Patricia probably on a dark-blue and chrome Flying Scot.

Both sound lovely! Will keep an eye out.

Ha, ha! You can't imagine the trouble I had finding out who built the bike. Six months of internet scouring, scanning thousands of photo collections, various fourms, several dead ends, fifty or so e-mails and to cycle jumble organisers, and quite a few hand written letters before I got in touch with him, and there was someone right here who knew him along! Small world.

  • not on a shimano sprocket set is it?

its on a new "sunrace" 6 speed block , changed the block , changed the chain , jockey wheels (bought the mech from you !!!) look fine but gazelle levers slip a lot might have to change them ....any tips ?

  • mech from me eh? small world,
take this with a pinch of salt, as may be baloney, but the sprocket spacing on shim is different to camp as far as I'm aware, hence slippage, you can buy regina freewheel/ sprockets on ebay for reasonable dough, and they complement camp.
I checked me odd box , no luck, if I had it I'd a sent it to you .
I know nothing re. lever agg I'm afraid.
