  • The spokecards were £5 and all of that money went to charity, Fox and a few other people were selling them.

Guilty as charged, although I suspect the other people selling them sold a lot more than me!

All of the money from the spoke cards went to World Bicycle Relief, their website is:
    http://www.worldbicyclerelief.org/

They basically provide bikes to children in Africa so they can get to school - funnily enough it seems if you make it to school your chances in life improve drastically. It's a great cause which really changes young people's lives.

  • Isn't this Tweed Run thing a bit 'over' now?

When you start gettin 'celebrities' goin and it's all over the 'style' blogs isn't it time to just quit while you're a head, keep a bit of integrity and quit while it was good kind of thing

I've always thought it was a bit 'Battle Re-anactment' but it seems a bit wankier now?

And what's wrong with a bit of style and celebrity? I think it's safe to say everyone had fun!

  • Thanks to Ted, Jacqui, the marshals and everyone who made Saturday's ride such a big success. I loved every minute and talked to so many nice people.

My ride write up and video, which LOTS of you 'orrible lot are in, is here:

It was great to meet General Lucifer (not nearly as scary as his avatar in real life you know) and to see Miss Mouse who totally rocked her fur hat all the way round the ride. Photoben was just pure entertainment all the way round on his photochariot.

Great vid and photos mark! Lovely to see you too. Alex

  • If 500 smiling people had a good day on their bikes, enjoyed the company (at whatever level) and raised money for charity surely this can only be a good thing. How British to start moaning at a success and trying to shoot it down.

Well done Jacqui and Ted for creating such a great event and especial thanks to the marshalls and everyone on the ride for making the day what it was.

  • I've trawled through shiiite loads of photos to find one with me in. I thought there was some kind of paranoid conspiracy going on ... until the voices told me otherwise.

Then I found this pic of me and dogpants

  • And what's wrong with a bit of style and celebrity?

    My initial thought is:

If I wanted "style & celebrity" I'd go to a wanky bar on Brompton Rd. When going on a bike ride for a day I'd rather hang with people that ride or have the intention to ride NOT folk there because their PR people suggested using/reducing it as another trinket for their publicity.

It's a somewhat blinkered, cynical, elitist and childish view point.

I guess *if *it raises the image and accessibility of cycling in London and beyond (to those either considering cycling as a mode of transport, or helps with acceptance from drivers) then it's a great thing -in addition to monies raised.

  • Some bells from 'Made In Chelsea' were on it

I'd have to check the photos but I'm pretty sure most people did ride.

  • I complimented the lady in the waistcoat on her BRP pouch and she had no fucking idea what I was on about as she'd just borrowed it for the day (from Wicksie I presume).

The one in the middle with glasses talked utter filth, a smut pedaler, and was quite entertaining.

  • Watch it lads, Sniffy'll have you for that sort of talk.

  • i am suprised and sadened that the camera did not capture her beauty as i soberly remember it.

  • @marky - so the truth is regardless of your child's footie practice you'd not have accepted my invite to bring them for cupcakes? :(

Ha, yeah she's not allowed on the forum so doesn't appreciate such things. ;)
