  • tonights meeting is cancelled.. next meeting will be monday 20th february..

i will ask our flanders tour riders to attend and i'll bring samples of the infamous bespoke choc bar
'almac-vlaams-bloc-of-choc' our politically motivated hammerblow against the neo-nazi bokkies..

we need to get those sew-on london clarion badges moving as well
btw who has received a clarion jersey from Charles?

  • Bugger, I could've made that. 20th it is! at Leon or somewhere else?
I've had my jersey. I'm 6ft 2 and 39" chest, but will go XL next time to try to win some extra length - they do come up quite short.

  • sorry wen jian.. just as well, the roads are looking pretty grim tonight.. i have ordered a XL i think.. i'm sure Charles would change yours though.

    Al

  • It reminds me a little of the polo London Open designs that bdw has been creating. These are great--using popular figures from London's history:

    Father Thames

    Boadicea

Wasn't it going to be a second banner below the "Socialialism the Hope Of the World" one, with something like "London Column" on it? Not sure column is the word I'm looking for but I can't remember the right one, and I've been reading too much about the Cuban revolution recently...

Love those! I've been of the opinion for some time that there wasn't enough Hi-Viz orange in leftist agit-prop imagery.

Also, can anyone think of any specific legislation that would prohibit rear reflector/lights from being star-shaped? I know triangles are for trailers.

  • boadicea.. yes,yes,yes.. warrior queen of the iceni

bdw.. should be commissioned with loads of biers

i personally would prefer something contemporary
instead of sticking with the national clarion format
although the wings look good.. a bit hells angel like

  • I didn't realise that Boudicca was 'Buddug' in Welsh - I know someone with that name.

I really like the Clarion image but I agree that it looks dated as it stands. Partially just because of the level of detail available, and the areas of poor contrast making some elements disappear - the torch in particular. Not sure whether many would appreciate the significance of the phrygian cap that she's wearing either - though that's no reason to drop it - could become a cycling cap instead? I dunno, I'm crap that that sort of thing these days.

  • Hi
RE: 1895. I pay my subs to Charles annually but have to be a bit of an armchair member because of being middle aged, a dad, full of excuses. Could I also be an armchair member of the London Bitallion of NC1895? I'll buy a jersey if you get one and if I get divorced or a "free pass" will come along.

  • welcome aboard.. yokohamamamamamas

we try to meet up once in a while, find out / discuss what's going on, even organise some rides, plus we support LCEF, if we get this jersey with London Clarion sew-on badge it'll be a miracle. also expect a few forum faces / and LC1895 members at memorial ride on friday evening for Henry Warwick.

converting a beautiful BDW image into a sew-on badge will be fun.. need to keep it clear and simple though

Welcome, comrade! I believe it was Marx who stated that you can observe the advancement of a society by the status of its women, so rest assured that your actions or lack thereof need no excuse!

  • Thank you all for your warm welcomes. In these times it is good to see the spirit of comradeship is thriving.

  • Given how much we have talked at meetings about Couriers are we all turning up on Friday for the Henry Warwick commemeration?

  • I'll be there.

  • Yes!

  • Certainly will be.

  • BDW? Not sure what the Beach Boys have to do with it.

Wen Jian - I think almac is referring to an elder of the forum, Big Daddy Wayne, who is known for his work in graphic design.

  • ^ I should have realised as the Schickster referred to Mr Wayne in the same way only a couple of posts earlier.

I was planning to come on the memorial ride on Friday; unfortunately work has taken me to Bristol and I won't be back in time.

  • I'll be in LMNH at 6:15 if any of you want to join me

  • bump
