  • So this is Amazon order (which I had no idea was coming from outwith the UK, I hardly ever use Amazon so maybe I missed something but have looked at it again since and really can't see anything to say it is) is supposedly out for delivery today, only 4 weeks after I ordered the damn thing.

Item cost £6.70 delivery cost 60p so if I get hit with a 'Clearance fee' like that^ then it'll be more than the item value.

Is there an option to not pay/not receive the item if I get a bill like that?

  • If it makes anyone feel better i've sent hundreds of packages via UKMail/DHL and can count the number of issues on one hand, wouldn't use anyone else.

  • Gotta love Yodel, sat at home working waiting for a package, get an email to stay my package has been handed over and signed for by the customer....news to me.

Check front door find not only the Yodel package but also the Royal Mail and DPD, seems knocking on a door is no longer a requirement.

  • Kibe is currently making delivery number 36, you are delivery number 37.

Kibe is approximately 45 minutes away from you.

I can see his van in the road....he must be walking if it's going to take 45 minutes

  • "You were out" note?

  • Still waiting?

  • No but I was impressed that I had an email confirming delivery which I had signed for, whilst waiting for the package to be delivered, which was thrown over the back gate.

  • Ordered some urgent bits from CRC for next day delivery, assumed they'd use a proper courier (all of whom know exactly where to leave parcels) but no it's Yodel and I got a card through the door.
Only option available appears to be collection from a depot 40 miles away! Cunts.

Does anyone know if they'll reattempt delivery tomorrow (or offer improved options)?

  • Just bought an amp off eBay which yodel have excelled in totally trashing despite being bubble wrapped etc. I'm trying to get money back off them but they keep rejecting all uploaded documents proving value i.e. Ebay screenshots, PayPal transaction. Is this standard practice for these cunts or should I be going straight to small claims court

  • You’re looking in the wrong place for your refund.

You’re contract is withbthe seller and the seller has the contract with the courier (unless you arranged the courier?).

  • I arranged courier as was collection only. I do feel stupid as I had only read shit things about them but yet here I am!

  • Ah.

Then as far as I can tell, you’re fucked.

  • Haha ok, I paid for yodel's insurance which I assumed might be worth something. I wouldn't mind but they must have tried really hard to crack the case on this thing as it was pretty sturdy and had FRAGILE written all over it even though it wasn't..

  • Watching the Parcelforce 'live tracker'. He hasn't moved from Stamford Hill in 45 minutes. He's already an hour late.

  • And now the live tracking has gone dead. This is more suspense than the Bodyguard.

  • Maybe their hat got stolen, hence the delay.

  • Cross thread gold.

  • It's arrived.

  • It's arrived

    The stolen hat?

  • That’s my kinda work day! Open at 8am and close by 9:30...!

  • This seems like a good place to rant about Hermes...

Won a (bargain) radio mic on ebay back in early December. Seller sent via Hermes.... despite being in all day nothing turned up. I then got a message saying it had been 'delivered to reception'. Being my house there is no reception, it wasn't dumped on doorstep or bins or with neighbours.
Ebay generally great for refunds, but not when the tracking says the item has been delivered.
Seller has been helpful enough, but clearly doesn't want to just refund me if he doesn't have to. Have been engaged in battle with Hermes' hopeless customer service ever since. All ebay requires to refund me is a clear email from Hermes saying they have not delivered the parcel to my specific address. This seems beyond Hermes to provide. I have clear emails from them stating the 'parcel can not be found', but whoever they've outsourced their customer service to is incapable of actually reading emails and invariably just tells me I need to contact my retailer.
    God it's frustrating.
Am going to pursue this to the bitter end (paypal dispute if ebay fails, money claim online if all else fails).
I don't even know why I'm writing this really... it makes a change from sending yet another email to Hermes though.
