Me and 6pt are having trouble with my look 595 headset. It's fork - bearing - split ring - head tube - split ring - bearing. Right? Seems to not fit properly. Any advice?

Is the top split ring just a standard one? or am i going to have to find the Look specific one?

Standard I believe, you need the corresponding angled split ring to whatever your headset bearing is.

Laner, is yours a traditional headset or the head fit fancy one?

It consists of a 1 1/8 top bearing and a 1 1/4 bottom bearing. It has two split rings that go between the bearing and the headtube. just missing the additonal top split ring, but since it is against the 1 1/8 it should be a standard one. will grab one from a lbs and try it out.

The split rings are proprietary to Look, most carbon frame makers drop the bearings directly into the carbon

It's the top split wedge, not the 2 thrust rings that he's missing.Beaten to it.

In that case, you're good, standard FSA part. When you said " between the bearing and the headtube" you actually meant " between the bearing and the steerer"
