I don't think anyone can help, it's a labour intensive job and our flat is too small. It requires labelling with SD stickers and punching the sticker codes into the corresponding order in the system. Which means doing them one at a time. Not something I could farm out, or mechanical turk, and something that requires doing the stickering at the same time (to prevent errors... can't go giving the wrong tracking code to people).

So it's really a 1 man job, in front of a single computer whilst stickering.

It's a bit of a difference (£2.73 becomes £5.90 per order)... but really, I advertised a price and regardless of extra cost to ensure the service, traceability and such... the price advertised is the price you pay.

That's a lot of money once you times it by 80 and add jiffy bags / queueing time.

I'm going to use it for the T-shirts when I get those online. But for the jerseys, the bulk and the special delivery made it useless. I read online that post offices sometimes refuse to do the laborious special delivery processing in such bulk when you aren't buying the postage from them, as they don't make any revenue from you using smartstamp.

So it makes sense to use, but only for lower value items that wouldn't need to be received and processed by a post office.

I've become something of an authority on the available options and postage stuff now.
