I could possibly fill in slips for you from home.you filthy devil, how dare you!

He wouldn't be able to model them very seductively at the moment. And for that reason, I'm out.

• #504
I'd forgotten a bit about this until *m.f remindered me today, and then I rememberated again and now slightly re-excited. Which is nice

Cheers for the speedy and complicated delivery. I shall not be home when mine arrives, but have a semi in anticipation ;-)
-
• #507
I know it's probably more complicated than it's worth, but you wouldn't be up for handing mine over?
#doesn'tworktuesdayanddoesn'tlikepostalserviceThe problem is that a couple of people have already asked, and I have to say no to everyone because it starts getting mighty complex to say yes to a few, and to arrange meeting people, whilst still trying to ensure I don't accidentally send things out too.
I'm sending over 80 packages, each with an expensive jersey that is limited in number. Getting it wrong isn't something I'd want to happen, so I'd rather handle everything the same way and have checks at each point.

Sending pm ;)

• #509
Hehe.
They're all packed btw, a nice tall tower of padded envelopes next to me. It's what we've spent most of the day doing.
As soon as I get all of the recorded delivery slips they'll be sent. Emails with tracking numbers should go out Tuesday evening, but they'll actually be in the post Tuesday morning, meaning that they're likely to arrive on Wednesday.

So on Thursday London will be swamped by lfgssers in their brand new jerseys, Velocio's army.
We'd better mis-behave else will give the forum a bad name. The spotted thread will be busy then too -
• #513
The rear of the shirts have something of the "T-birds" about them.
-
• #514
maybe a lfgss jersey ride is in order?
-
• #515
just cycling around in matching tops looking smug, yeah, sounds good
-
• #516
when you put it like that...
-
• #517
:] that's what i'll be doing with mine, will probably make me take detours through busy streets where i can ride slowly and do trackstands and skid and shit. yeah.

Combine it with a New Oxford Street ride, and perhaps end at the Princess Louise for a well-deserved pint.

Just been to the post office, they can't send them all recorded as the insurance is only up to £46. So they're going special delivery and will be delivered on Wednesday morning.
Tracking codes will be sent to everyone who has ordered a jersey late tonight, and they will physically be in the system tomorrow morning for delivery Wednesday morning.
For those wondering about the price difference between the recorded and special delivery... meh, this is costing you all enough and I'm just going to swallow the difference as some eBay revenue will cover it.
More news at 11*.
- Not really, just got Public Enemy in my head.

I'd be happy to pay more for the special delivery... the cost difference is quite big when added up, no?
-
• #522
^^yeah if you say how much the difference was I'm sure you'll get a few forum donations for that amount. even if it doesn't cover the whole increase in cost it might put a dent in it.
-
• #523
It's a bit of a difference (£2.73 becomes £5.90 per order)... but really, I advertised a price and regardless of extra cost to ensure the service, traceability and such... the price advertised is the price you pay.
So it's cool.
The harder bit is tonight... the labelling of ~80 envelopes and entering all the tracking codes into the emails for you all :)
Actually, that may not be the hardest bit... the look on the post office staff member's face this morning when I was buying the postage was enough. I liked the way he told me to go to window 6 tomorrow as he smugly factored in that he would be on window 2.

You know, if I'd checked all this out in advance, I would've used Amazon. They have this service that if you ship your goods to them, they ship them out for you from their factories. They charge for this, around £7. So it's useless for low value items like T-shirts, but great for higher value items like the cycle jersey. Then it just goes into the post with all of their Amazon Prime stuff and they get things like special delivery at a massively reduced price because of their volume.
I'll keep that in mind for the future.
