Back up in case worse come to worst.
Losing a 1000 would make it slightly more difficult than losing an eTrex/510.

Currywurst.

Cheers, I saw those but I was trying to avoid more cable. That's 1m long and the Garmin cable is already long enough. Could be shortened but I'd prefer a neat adapter solution.

If you find one post a link please.

Certainly. I've only spotted micro usb ones thus far, no mini usb. But I'll have another look around.

has anyone got the fit file repair tool? am using a mac so can't use the repair tool and todays commute will only half upload to strava (though the whole thing has gone up on garmin connect).
-
• #1858
Tried the online one?
-
• #1859
just tried it, but the strava says the fixed file is empty

Just got a Garmin touring - has anyone got an out front mount they want rid of, off on a trip this weekend so would ideally pick something up tomorrow or friday..
Thanks! -

I had currywurst last Saturday (here: http://goo.gl/maps/wx1K6). Very tasty. Would eat again (and again, and again).

Suppose that excuses your holidaying in Austria.

Is there a good German ski resort with 100km+ of pistes that gets good snow?

I did an interval session on the turbo the other night. It was basically 5mins full-gas, 5 mins tempo. I was using my 310xt, without speed/cadence sensor.
I'd like to see my HR vs Time, but neither Garmin Connect nor Strava can show me a graph/data. Is there anything else I can try?
-
• #1865
Does it not have a HR graph?

Right my 705 has finally given up - what's the deal with more recent Garmins? Are they all just as shit as each other? Will an 800/810 do?
I'm using my girlfriends 810 at the moment and I'm finding it incredibly irritating. Will this pass?
-
• #1867
Also - best price for the unit (I don't need maps or any of the gubbins). Is it handtec?
-
• #1868
What's irritating about it? The 800 kills the 705 for usability. I've not tried an 810 or 1000 though.
-
• #1869
Handtec and get a 810 or 1000.
If you don't need maps for navigation just got 510.
-
• #1870
810 is a world better than the 800. so much more responsive
-
• #1871
skinny said much the same. I don't need one yet but I'll soon be unable to use my older Powertap LYCs it'll make sense to have a second bike/backup computer and an 810 makes sense.

Fully sick bro!

I like the 810. Mine had a few wobbles a while back when it started freezing mid-ride for no apparent reason, but it's started behaving itself again. It took a while to get used to the new user-interface, having got used to an 800, but on balance I think it's better than the 800.
The 1000 is lovely. I've just started using it, and it's surprising how useful the slightly larger screen is. It's also noticeably faster than the 810 and the higher resolution makes maps easier to see. However, if you're not using the navigation side then it's difficult to justify the extra cash for a 1000 over an 810 IMO.
