Skully if you don't make it onto this ride don't worry they'll be someone on it to make sure it arrives at it's destination in true forum fashion.
-
• #285
I may be able to make this.. Won't know until nearer the time though. Would be good as I haven't ridden out with forumengers for a while.
-
• #286
Hell, I'm still coming Cornball. Just saying I fail on the diary clash ...
Really bloody looking forward to this, it's going to be hoooooj.

OK I'm in, so does anyone have any idea how much the train is from Camb back to the metropolis? I'm a skintos job seeker so am watching the sheckles and may have to break into the two's and ones collection or consider selling a kidney depending on the current rate of British Snail extortion.

http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
try this for train times and fares.
don't forget the potential group saves. -
• #289
It's free if you don't mind cycling twice the distance :)
-
• #290
assuming you don't have a railcard (eg. network/young persons) you need to get a groupsave where 3 or 4 people travel together for the price of 2. you do have to be travelling together eg. in the same carriage.
4 people for £32 (2x super off-peak), so £8 each. pretty cheap! make sure you ask for a Super Off-Peak, they sometimes try and fob you off with a regular off-peak...
-
• #291
thanks hoefla,
that's good news, amazing, british rail in reasonable ticket price shocker!
and this whole group saver thing wow, it shows my rail travel to date has been...forever alone....insert that face thing....however you do that (please don't tell me i don't want to know really)
-
• #292
yeah I know - I'm on the trains a lot, but never that cheap as I'm always on my lonesome...
-
• #293
best train deal I've ever had: £32 from my village (in Suffolk) to Aberdeen next tuesday.
To give you a bearing on that, a single from my village to London (100ish miles) is about £25.

my mother can go fuck herself on that day as far as i am concerned. and judging by some of the shit i found in her bedside drawer as a kid she no doubt will.
that aside, i will not be able to swerve family duty that day. i knew something rang out about the date - my little sister's 30th (pointed out that she is my little sister there to help some of you with my indeterminate age).
i am sure you will have a lovely ride.
-
• #295
You're older than 30?
-
• #296
Not necessarily, he said nothing about age, she might just be very, very small indeed.
-
• #297
Also very true.
-
• #298
Need to look at the route a bit more closely but might be up for joining for a few miles, if that'd be worth it.
But. I will be on a motherfucking huge 25kg of a tandem. It has gears. And a 6yr old stoker. And I'll need to find a station to get back from about half way along.
(I suspect I'll realise what a crazy idea this is and decide against it)
-
• #299
Tandem with gears acceptable! It'd be ace if you came along Jenny.
-
• #300
25kg of bike and 25kg of stoker; I guess I'm allowed a few gears.
Paperchase?
