  • Crosslight Pro 6? Probably the best value race specific frame I'd agree.

  • Fully built for £999?

  • after 55 pages whats the best value for money cyclocross frame?

  • The cannondale site says there's rear rack and mudguard mount and front muguard mount.

    Cool.

No info on crank or stem length but I've ordered one in so we'll see...

  • 54-58cm have 110mm stem, what size are you getting?

  • 56cm, 110mm is perfect as the frame seems to have almost identical stack/reach to my road bike. Hoping the cranks are 172.5 and the bars are 42!

  • crank aren't really important, but bar is likely to be 42cm

  • Pricing on the 2014 CAADX disc with 105 bits seems pretty good at £1099.

Had a good look at one on Saturday - very tidy looking. With a tapered head tube it would be insanely rad.

  • But you can get crab0n planet-x for 100 quid less.

  • Yes - the XLS is a very strong deal.

In the 'dale's favor you will get lifetime warranty and crash damage amnesty on the frame.

Got it today, perfect fit but the front end is massive! I'm going to have to slam the stem to get it the same as my road bike, which isn't exactly low.

  • Are you sure you want it as low as your road bike?

  • Well I'm going to see how I get on tomorrow but I would prefer the fit triangle to be the same...

  • Thuekr's raise a good point, give it a couple of weeks and see how you get on with it.

  • Anyone know eta and price of the 2014 bmc granfondo disc 105?

edit: found it, looks great but 1.6K

  • Has anyone got experience using the Caadx 2012 105 over any great distance. Thinking of getting one for a lightweight tour, no camping stuff, just clothes, few tools in 2 small pannier and a bar bag. Wondering what it's like with panniers on?
    Thanks

I've ended up following a couple of road -> cx fit guides and it's ok but I still think I need to loose some spacers. The extra height is handy in traffic but I think 5cm difference is far too much!

I'll be able to tell you after the weekend, assuming the frame is the same as 2013!

  • Retroshift have a prototype of their friction shifter mounted to a TRP Hylex SS brake set up

  • But it won't take a SRAM thumbie :(

  • You'd need go-go-gadget arms to reach the end of that Hylex hood.

  • or a stem that's 10mm shorter.

  • Shifting looks proper awkward...

  • I've got them on my cross bike- they're actually really intuitive.

You'll be fine, only hindrance is the lack of compact chainset which isn't enough for a tour.
