  • But get SRAM instead.

  • Trollface.gif

  • Or Dolan with SRAM Apex for £750.

  • New Btwin cyclo cross full 105 and Aksiums £800 not in stock yet tho

  • Think they have one in the Nottingham store...
I found a few ok? deals on other forums recently:

  • The Niner RLT9 pre-order has just popped up on Charlie the Bike Monger. £1099.99 for the frameset. Expensive for alu frame...but so nice.

  • £1099? With a fork and headset? If not, blimey.

  • Oh, sorry yeah, with carbon Niner fork and headset.

  • Then again a full build with 105 retails at $1999.99 so that does seem a bit steep for the F+F! Then again we are in the UK so of course are being shafted.

  • What's my best option for something very versatile that will take skinny/medium tyres with full mudguards and also ice tyres (which don't seem to come under 35c). Drop bars, gears, maybe disc brakes if they're not shit, rack mounts and fairly comfortable. Would be used on commute/towpath/gravel/etc in all weathers and winter 'training'. Cheap as possible so I don't have to baby it.
    Kind regards,

a CX bike with full mudguard with room for ice tyres?

First thing come to mind is a Crosscheck, but I'm sure there's other option with generous clearance for guard and spikes.

  • Scwhalbe Winter spikes are available in 30c for 20 euros each from here Shipping was 6 euro when I got mine last year

They even fit under narrow SKS guards on my Charge Filter

Doesn't have to have mudguards with ice tyres but I guess it would help when it gets all slushy. Hmm.

  • ^^ Good find!

  • Then any CX bike within your budget then, from the budget Genesis CdF to the Cannondale CAADX Tiagra.

  • That's good to know, can't see tyre clearances mentioned in many places.
Anything more budget? They're both around £700-750...

  • According to Evans there's a CAADX 2013 Sora for less than £700.

  • £629 elsewhere, which is pretty good I think. No front guard mounts though

  • Is there's not one? can check tomorrow at work, as some Cannondale like the CAAD8 have hidden mount on the inside of the fork.

  • Not in pictures but you might be right googles.

  • Okay, I've checked with our bikes at work, we don't have a CAADX Sora build up, but the CAADX Disc have hidden mudguard eyekit above the disc caliper.

  • The cannondale site says there's rear rack and mudguard mount and front muguard mount.

  • after 55 pages whats the best value for money cyclocross frame?

  • Pompino or Kaffenback, probs.

  • Kinesis.
