Admittedly it's the fork that seems heavy and probably because it's an ally/crabon mix.

Fuck it, I'll just sell the CdF for a cheap road bicycle instead.

What are you after / do you need?
I take it the CdF is your alrounder practical bike, long distance, carrying shit, etc. So what doesn't it do that you need?
I'm just a bit confused as to what's wrong with it and what a road bike will do better.

Got a custom audax bike on the way that'll do exactly what you've described, and I'm left with two similar bicycle, except one got more mounts for rack and suitable for CX.

Kinesis Pro 6 bundle for £1120 good deal?
Looks well nice. 105 speaks for itself, and the FSA stuff is non bling but reliable. The bars are a very nice shape for a cx bike IMHO. The 46/36 chainset is gives nice gearing too.
The Tektro Lyra are about the cheapest cable brakes you can get. I have them on a cargo bike and they work great for me. Its possible they work great with 105 levers too. Worth a shot, otherwise its a cheap upgrade.
Only if they have the green though.
I love the look of this frameset. All the braze-ons, sweet geometry (well in my size at least), stiff, tapered steerer. Looks like the right balance of fun and practicality. As in it sides more on the fun side.

All of this +1 apart from the Green - I quite like the white too.
You could always flog the wheelset and buy some Hopes if you want.

What cable disc brakes are people using with road levers successfully, and what are the levers?
I'm most interested in anyone using Ultegra Di2 levers with cable discs.
-
• #2362
dammit no V twin ? or are you waiting on Di2 hydraulic levers?
-
• #2363
I've got a V-Twin but I'd prefer not to use a converter if I don't have to.
I will be getting the Di2 hydro levers when they come out I reckon, if they're not a million pounds.
I've been chatting to Sam at LMNH and he really rates his Hayes CX5, so I thought I should give cable discs one last shot.
-
• #2364
You really should, I actually find my cable pull disc brake to be more powerful than my Ultegra brakeset with koolstop, it's a joy to lightly squeeze the levers from the hood to come to a quick stop on Gipsy Hill for example.
I will defintely miss disc brakes for sure.
CX5 are awesome, worth upgrading from Avid IMHO.

Do you do any cycloCX'in edscoble? (Genuine question)
I do, and my immediate thought was 'too small'. But whatever works, really.

Yeah

No, is it normal to go one size smaller for cyclocross races?
-
• #2373
As a rule of thumb: yes. Idea being to give you a bit more of an upright stance and increase standover, but individual frame designs will ultimately affect the sizing choice.
But it struck me odd to have that much post and a long, upwards pointing stem. It looks like the bike has been adjusted to its limit to give a suitable position, which doesn't really leave much room for tweaking.
But hey could be a trick of the light or the fact that I just can't get excited about a Cube, sorry.

I'd wait 6 weeks;

If the Spyre brake is as good as they say I'm in.
It's a full 1.1kg lighter than my CdF frame and the fork 's probably 350g lighter too.
