Tenderloin- I'd be up for this, unless the price goes mental during the import process.

  • I'll update as I hear back from Tyson.

It may even warrant it's own thread, should it get that far.

  • well, damn you. I just bought the pomp.

  • I'd never heard of Civilian before. They look great.

    Except perhaps those fork decals?

  • Beauty if the Pomp is that they don't depreciate much if/when you sell them on.

Frame and fork? That's not bad at all. I'm surprised.

  • Frame and fork? That's not bad at all. I'm surprised.

can't be. even for frame only without dropout sliders it's a good weight, I reckon.

  • I cannot credit that as frame and fork- 4130 frame?

  • Snap! Yeah, I reckon that would be frame, with another 450g for fork if it's full carbon.

  • Ha! There was me thinking "at least they won't make it in my size".

    Bugger!

    Please don't import them :-(

  • ^^Still strikes me as pretty competitive though?

  • Yeah- it's a decent weight. Still want one.

  • Like so many cross bikes these days the headtubes are almost non existent. 13cm ht on a 57 tt is pretty low. Especially since there is an integrated headset or atleast semi-integrated. No cable hanger since discs, it better have some massive bb drop for me to not be forced to run like 5cm+ of spacers :)

    Nice looking bike tho!

  • The geo I have on my "crosser" spreadsheet is 16cm, with a 57cm horizontal top tube length.

    Thrilling, eh?

  • Maybe you r young and flexible :)?

Or perhaps a 59 tt with a shorter stem is a better option at 188.

  • I'm almost as old as the Universe, and 187cm tall.

I normally go for a top tube around 57-58cm with a 120mm stem.

Being a man of action I just measured my road bike headtube at 17cm.

  • we seem to want the same frame sizes more or less and im 187-188 dunno really.

A 13cm headtube will be pushing it imo. Esp if the bb drop is lowish.

  • the bb drop is like 63mm or something.

  • Competitive Cyclist will ship them for $299. Plus sales tax.

So that's what Tenderloin has to beat.

    :)

  • Ah i missed that it was available on the chart and i thought i looked..
63 is low. Compared to standard roadbike its almost another cm of the headtube lenght. You gain about 2.5 from the longer fork so that roughly about 14.5 if compared to your roadbike providing you got the same integrated/semi integrated headset design on that frame or youd have to account for that aswell making it even shorter in comparison.

Id need a 59 with shorter stem. Well that or too many spacers in wich case id rather have back pain :)

    :)

£740 including shipping, but not including VAT and duty, which is going to be what, another 25%?

So, a bag of sand landed and cleared I reckon.

Not such a bargain at that point.

  • I think 20%?

But yes. With better wheels maybe, otherwise no. TBH I'm not that fussed about discs really.

  • I was alarmed by the headtube too, my CX have 54cm TT with 135mm headtube.

Think I should go for the 55 and run a 90mm stem instead of 100mm.
