Thought this was not on as I was planning on going to Germany for holiday that weekend. Flights not booked yet. Maybe I go on Monday or Tuesday? Will have a look later today. Anybody else up for brakers 240 miles Bristol idea?

I totally didn't see a bike-booking option when I booked my ticket on whichever backwater british rail website I ended using. does this mean I'll be turned away?
-
• #56
if you take it apart you could argue it's not a bike, it's just luggage
-

^^You can get a cycle reservation for an existing ticket by checking in at any National Rail travel center. S'easy, and free.
As for getting on a train without a reservation, the jury's out. I've never had a problem, but the attitude of station staff can be patchy. I'd consider a cycle reservation as reassurance, rather than an essential piece of kit.

what else could i use? i have a uncomfortable town beater
Don't do it. The EE is hilly. You'd have a fairly horrid time on one of those bikes.

Hmmm. I missed the DD because of a very lovely wedding, so this appeals to me. Supposedly I'm busy that weekend... but we'll see.

"Here's a ride that's like DD, only before it became so popular. Let's all go!" ;) Not serious. Wish I could make it but that w/e is claimed.

Think I'm in for this it will be my longest ride, although reading some of the DD reports is making me nervous.
Be good to me some forum folk

The only way I'm going to recognise any of you is if you wear your forum jerseys or if I see CB. He's the only name on that list I can put a face to. You'll spot me a mile off though fluro wheels. The shame...

I am going to do some kind of online supermarket breakfast delivery to my parents' house at some point in the near future. So send breakfast requests my way.
