  • same :-)

    I should book a train...

  • bum holes, this clashes with andy p's olympic ride, which i signed up for AGES ago...

    thinking...

    I have a plan. PM'd

  • I did a dawn raid on Cheddar Gorge this morning. Very nice it was too.

However, going by all the tyre marks in the middle of the road, I think the Gorge can be a bit of a mecca for boy racers on a Saturday night. Serious donut action going down.

Also came round a corner near the bottom to be greeted by 10-14 goats sat in the middle of the road.

So, watch out. It's a jungle out there!

  • Last year we only saw 2 cars in the half hour we spent in the gorge having tea.

  • Still up for this. I have the choice between dropping the retro racer to 65" or use the Dolan in "road mode", but i will cry if it rains and my DA's get wet. Decisions decisions...

  • When's everyone heading back?

  • ???

  • As in train from Exmouth back to London; just realised I need to book mine.

  • Depending on how knackered I will be I'll be riding back to Bristol or at least to Bridgewater. I'm lathe to spend £60 on a single train ticket after spending £15 on a Cardiff - Bristol return

  • At the moment I think I'll be riding back to London. Does that sound insane?

  • Not on the Sunday. That would be insane.

    me too... what you booking?

  • ^^ Depends which part of London but a quick look at google maps says about 170 miles, but that could end up at 200mi if you're heading for NE

FGW trains are putting on extra carriages back to Bristol but as you're going back to london you may have to sort out who's going back to london and go at intervals. Sitting on a train station for an hour (or however long it will be) is never an attractive proposal

That does sound insane. I might do that as well.

  • @oz, doing exmouth to poole in the sunday, then poole -> london on the monday. maybe.

  • Actually no that's madness beyond my usual level, I need to move house six days later and my brain will fall out.

    me too... what you booking?

Hm, I might hang out at my parents' house for a while (and anyone else is welcome to as well) or go drink beer on the beach. The 6.24pm looks cheap(ish) and plausible.

edit: I've booked on the 18.24 on Sunday.

  • Right. I now have the all clear to be off work Sat and Sun.
So I too need to look into tickets. The intention will be to arrive Bristol Sat late afternoon/eve and hang around Exmouth for a while after arrival on Sun. Then train back to London. Further ride to Poole or Bristol being considered.
Braker, are you really going to ride out to Brissle on the Sat ?

  • have you seen the breakfast list dropout? ^^^^^^^^

  • J-Dizzle, I'm doing the Olympic Ride and will then likely carry on to Bristol. Whether I manage the Exodus on top of that remains to be seen.

    I will bring cocaine.

  • dibs

  • breakfast list looking a bit full! i would like to join you, if poss...

let me know if that is ok.

i would rather do the ee than ride to bristol (again). i am thninking olympic ride, train to bristol, then ee.

Of course! You're very welcome indeed. I am going to order tons of food and my parents have a massive garden for people to lounge around in* as long as they wish so space shouldn't be an issue.

*obviously they can lounge around in the house too but if it's sunny I am quite looking forward to a nap on the lawn.
