I'd forgotten how amusing this forum actually was - i'd been blinded by the bike.
Charlie Allen is a really nice bloke, i told him i'd get him to do me a suit if i ever made any money - he's still waiting. And I suspect Jason will be more than amused to know he's been thrown in with Belmondo and Gainsburg in a fashion thread on a forum dedicated to bikes with one gear.
I saw the most amazing* pair of pimp shoes in a shop on bond street that seemed to be aiming for the riviera / monaco set. i'd have taken a pic had i known you lot would have cared.
Anyone been into Pokit? my gf got a really nice shirt there a few years back and i've been meaning to go look. I also have a strange urge to go see the stuff Kiton are doing. I can't explain this, it must be good pr/marketing.
...and, on the subject of books. Anyone liking the Rin Tanaka books? They sell them in lewis leathers among other places. If so and you fancy getting some a bit cheaper (they are about 55 quid in lewis) I'm putting in a little wholesale order and could add you in. Depending on title they would be about 50 dollars, landed. Well, ported as it's cheaper, but it does take about a month and a half to arrive. his site is here:

I had a crombie as a teenager, always thought donkey jackets were a bit too binman, if you know what I mean... But then I grew up on a council estate, most of our parents worked in menial jobs and the last thing me or my mates wanted was to dress like our dads did at work... Tho' my dad was pretty sharp when he wasn't in the kitchen, got all his suits made bespoke back in Spain...

did your crombie have an outer top pocket with the red lining or am i imagining that from somewhere else?
oliver spencer i have no idea on looked at the website. the plus two's are interesting but i would look twice at them. i think you need to see that product close up as style wise its very much of the moment. so how much effort has gone into making it alll so quickly or are they just ahead of the game. like that donkey jacket also.
the nigel cabourn version is close to the original isnt it. interesting how a £30.00 single layer piece of work wear can be put through the fashion machine and come out costing £200 - £1190
kiton mmmmmmmmmmm such a big following but i dont think as much interest in this country as usa and europe
