I'm going to bring the goal bases and uprights and nets down so people can see them and we can decide how we're going to assemble them. We can play with the bases and see how they go.
If anyone wants to bring a drill, big bits, and a hacksaw, we could potentially get them up and running. However, we need to think of something (x4) to put on the uprights to prevent us skewering ourselves on them. I was thinking chopped-in-half balls, but that's a waste of a vaulable commodity.

Tennis balls are good for that. I've got at least one lying around if anyone else has.

Solution to goal verticals being a bit skinny - swimming noodle threaded over post with tennis ball on top.

Okay, I've had the goals for over a week now and failed to do anything about sorting the uprights and net. Can someone else take the lead on this? Matt mentioned him and Andy might be able to sort something. I'm happy to drop them off at someone's house.

Dan, I can give you a hand with them some evenings next week, I'm working(!) over in Sutton till 5 Mon to Fri but we're hoping to be moved in by tomorrow so I'll be just round the corner. I have a drill and saw and access to beer.

I'm in. Let me know a day and i'll bring my tool box and beer.

Monday night is the only night I'm free, and I'm going away on Thursday, so unless someone can pick them up before then, they won't be out at the following weekend's polo.
I reckon we need a minimum of four tennis balls, something to fill them with, some big ass drill bits, and a closer-weaved net. If either of you guys are around and about today and can look out for those, that would help. 20-30 tennis balls would mean we can 'widen' the uprights to make them softer and more visible.

Dans idea with the swimming pool things is good... i'm free monday night from 6ish...neil?
-
• #1215
How are we going to get those though? Admittedly, we don't need them immediately. Also, we could do with some big meaty washers, maybe 10mm hole, 20-30mm outer diameter.

I'm in...

Matt! pop into ours though first if you want to use that track pump. Should be in the new house by then.
-
• #1222
Any news from Andy? Are they in London yet?
-
• #1223
I won't get back til 6.30. Happy to put charcoal on the barbie if you guys wanna bring some meat products.
I have a drill (and track pump). If either of you have time, tennis balls and a closer-weaved net are no1 priorities. If I am out and about tomorrow, I'll keep my eyes open too.

We could do with some kind of elastic (4 x bungee cords at a push), for the tops.
My mallets lasted for two years i'll have you know.
Matt, i have a pipe cutter you can borrow.
