Oh dear!
Some people do not understand. The equivalent to "how do improve a mug of instant coffee" on the coffee appreciation thread.
Can anyone recommend a good clear polish or cream for my jam shoes
I've been using Proofide as I had some lying around, but it's £10 for a little tin that doesn't go very far

Er fuck off. They're not plain brown brogues but that doesn't mean that they're automatically shit quality, neither does it mean that I shouldn't bother looking after them. I was just after advice on how to keep coloured leather in good condition; if you don't know or don't care then why don't you just keep your trap shut?

For reference I normally wear size 12 (11 on the odd occasion) these are 12 and the fit is very good and they're pretty damn comfy too.
I normally see shoes online order them and when they arrive they are a lot more pointy than I expected because the ones they used for the photos are size 8's, but i was pleasantly surprised with these. I dont think they'll need much braking in because the side panels and toes are already very supple, just the heals that are stiff. Considering how cheap they are I'm impressed by the quality, those little indian kids did a good job.
Tired going for a walking from the car to my aunts front door might as well be wearing ice skates. -

Tried on a pair of lovely Tom Ford chelsea boots this morning at the Harrod's sale.
Good thing they didn't fit otherwise I may have done something silly.

That's how I make them last.

G, you wear hovercrafts for boots..They're a rubber composite, wear out in next to no time and can't be re-soled and unless you wear them in the house(along with white suede?!) about as worthwhile as an inflatable dartboard!

True that they're made for tropical weather, but I do live in Clapton. It's tropical.
There's a Caribbean take-away under my flat, I'm still winning.
And the outsole is made of EVA, it doesn't wear out easily. -

I think about 4 people have ordered them since I first posted about them in the present thread. I'm quite the trend setter for once in my life haha. I should be getting commission from ASOS.

I've heard there's a place in London that does bespoke leather boots for £120. It has to be a lie! Anyone know anywhere that will make a pair of shoes from an existing pair? I have the best brogues ever but they were made of cheap materials and have no give to the insoles anymore and are falling apart "to boot".
Jenne - oddly the place you seek is just around the corner from our house.

I'm very envious of my friends new leather desert boots from clarkes.
Best/nicest desert boots from Clarks I've seen, customized (...and exclusive).
*Clarks Desert Treks x Vibram Cristy
Resoled and ditched the crappy gumsoles. Sole is a #4014 Vibram Cristy.*
I have a pair of Jones the Bootmakers Brogues (sale item) but they are so uncomfortable to walk in - the actual fit is fine, they just cut under the ankle bone(s)....murder.....I've tried insoles to raise my foot up, but then they are too tight.......they look nice though!
