Proper leather shoes

I'm sure you're right about being able to find the real gear over here. Interstate used to be a good place for Carhartt, Redwing, Spiewak .
Even the US designs aren't the same as they were though, they've dropped the crotch and widened the thighs, not sure if that's a concession to fat American construction workers or a hippety hop thing. Quality seems the same though.

I've been thinking about getting a pair of boots from here for a long time..

Expect to pay around 40% extra to have his name on them. Personally I'm not into his wackier East-17-meets-americana stuff, but some of the plainer shoes are alright IMO.

Giving serious thought to biting the bullet on these but can't decide which. The plain toe shows off the cordovan better somehow and they will never ever go out of style. The longwing however is the one that really hits the spot for me, but the broguing could be described as anachronistic. Hmm.

The longwings are ace but very old school ivy league, and really it's about the leather. Don't want to go off £££ shoes!
